Help im getting married next July in Malta have booked with Thomson they said it takes 6 weeks to confirm the date!!! We want a certain date as its really special -nightmare waiting !!!!!

We were told to wait for 6 weeks but 2 weeks later we found out our date, i think it depends on the season you book it in! We booked ours last may xxxx

In Malta? with Thomas Cook I have been told I will not find out the date until 6 weeks before we fly (getting married in June 2014)... I was absolutely gutted as we had booked a two week holiday which would be our wedding and honeymoon mixed; and we would find out whether we have secured the date 6 weeks after booking. This was not the case, and it was only a week after booking it we received a call to say it would be 6 weeks before we fly. Straight away we looked at our options.. Thomas Cook suggested that guests stay for the same amount of time as B+G, to ensure they will see the wedding. As our families both cannot afford 2 weeks in Malta, we had to change the holiday to 1 week to ensure our wedding date would be within that week and our guests would be able to attend! This ended up costing us money due to the fact we had to make amendments. I do not mean to worry you but I would definitely check that you will find out in 6 weeks and not 6 weeks before you fly!!

I can assure you that Thomson is 6 weeks after you book it as that was our contract with them, but like before it just depends on the season as we found out really quickly!!

Yeah, our travel agent said it is the only country that does it that way... we are going for a week and doing a different honeymoon. Sorry for the late reply I am in aus! As it worked out I was able to change things just before I left thank goodness! Otherwise I would have been stuck!
Hopefully I am wrong but I phoned up the customer service line and they said exactly the same! :( As it stands I still have just short of a year until I find out.
Ladiess, I have had my date pretty much confirmed this weekend after being told we wouldn't find out until 6 weeks before we fly in June. We will be getting married on the 20th June 2014!!! It will get reconfirmed 6 weeks before we fly. I am so bloody excited!! JulieW15, I hope you have been given your special date!!x

Oh dear that sounds like a nightmare! This is partly why I decided against booking my wedding through the tour operator (we're getting married abroad too). I am using a wedding planner based in Rhodes where we are getting married, so I booked my wedding date with them first and then booked the actual holiday/flights about 9 months later! x
