    Hey ladies :)

We've opted for a Friday wedding, its also Friday 13th. Not planned but we're not bothered because we're not superstitious! Its a significant date for us, we really want to get married on this date. But we have also read in lots of wedding magazines that novel wedding dates (especially Friday 13th), can get you a really good deal!

What we're worried about is letting the venue know of this date.....do you think if they knew this was a significant date for us that they wouldn't do a deal? We're on a budget, but don't want them to not consider the Friday the 13th thing just because that's the date we WANT to get married!

    Ideas??? xxxxx

When negotiating it's always good to appear interested but not overly so. They don't need to know it's a significant date so I wouldn't let them know. I would also create a list of items you're willing to negotiate on, because they may not be willing to give you a bigger discount than the standard Friday discount (if that even exists).

I don't think it would make too much difference as I'm sure most brides have a certain date in mind. Fingers crossed you will get a good deal because of the date. X

I think with it being a Friday wedding, you have better negotiating power...don't think the fact that it's Friday the thirteenth will have a massive impact, but it's always worth a shot!

Be as prepared as possible before the meeting - look online so you can have a rough idea of how much it will cost, don't seem too interested and act like the venue is a foregone conclusion, be polite and enthusiastic though - if you are critical of the venue, they may not want you as a customer because they may think its more hassle than its worth, particularly if it's a popular venue that think they will most likely be able to fill the date anyway...

Let them go through the spiel, then ask about any discounts for a Friday...when they give you the estimated cost, say its a little over your budget - you had xxx amount in mind, what could they do for that? Etc

    Xx

Even tho you're not superstitious,a lot of brides are,so would potentially not go for that date so they may do u a deal just so they know they're definitely filling that slot! Definitely agree with don't sound over interested tho! ....we've had lots of ppl mention this because we're getting married sat 13th because obv in the future we will have anniversaries fall on a fri 13th but like you I'm not superstitious,u make ur own luck I think!x
