my h2bs keeps making comments about gettin drunk on our wedding day
and all his mates i know will be buying him shots and making him down drinks etc
hes quite a light weight as well!

thing is i want our wedding to be perfect and something that we'll remember forever not have him get mortal - ruin it for me and not remember it the next day!

i dunno if hes just winding me up or not but man im worried! :(

    xx

    Happily Married! :) xxx

haha yeh my brother is on "morning duty" ie DONT LET HIM DRINK BEFORE THE CEREMONY
then hes having 1 glass be4 pics, then 2 glasses at meal.... then hes on strict instruction not to have much to drink for rest of day!
plus wen he drinks he smokes like a trooper which means him being outside ALL THE TIME!!!!
hes worse wen he's with my dad - pops outside like every 20 minutes!!!

im not trying to be controlling just want it to be perfect :) xx

    Happily Married! :) xxx

My h2b is staying with my uncle the night before and he told me over the phone he'd get him drunk (this is my 70 year old uncle btw!), his wife was in the background saying 'Oh no you won't!!!' lol
I have given strict orders that he isn't to turn up hungover but to be fair he doesn't drink a lot anyway so it wouldn't happen.

I on the other hand, am going to have to try really hard not to get drunk, now I'm off the tablets I can hit the booze again! Yay

I would pick a suitable/relaxed time and attempt to speak to him so he does not think you are telling him NOT to drink...(they don't like that do they!!) .. just say you have been worried he would be 'cajoled' by his mates into getting pissed and you would like you BOTH to enjoy the day (with a few drinks!) but think getting p*ssed as a pudding is not the way to go?

He SHOULD be grown up enough to realise that it isn't really the way to go..good luck!

It all depends on what time you're planning to leave the ceremony. Of all the weddings I've been to it's only the ones where the Bride and Groom have stayed til the bar closed where I saw either of them drunk! During the dinner doesnt really matter as he'll be eating with it and maybe just have a responsible friend making sure that nobody buys him too much to drink throughout the course of the evening reception x

We're having our wedding over 2 days so we can pace ourselves. The day of the wedding we're only having 14 guests and going for lunch afterwards. By the evening I will be sipping champagne and eating picky things from Marks!!!(LOL)
The evening of the party (the following night) we have to pace ourselves whilst getting ready and to greet people, but after our first dance have told Simon he can get as p@**ed as he wants. I may be indulging in a few rose's myself!

i dont want either of us to getr plastered on our day, but we're all inclusive, the cocktails flow 24 hours a day and it wont cost a penny! i can handle my drink pretty well but h2b cant at all, even though he thinks he can! i hope he has the sense to pace himself, its gonna be a really long day as we're getting married at 11.30 am, and the bar on the beach doesnt shut... o dear! We're getting married at 2.45pm then afterwards having a 3 course meal (so that should help keep us sober if we have a few drinks lol). We're spending the evening in the hotel bar with our (18) guests - but won't really be able to get drunk (don't really want to anyway) - but we check out of the hotel for 10am the next day, then I've got to drive us 130 miles home.

We are getting married at 2.00 and have asked H2B not to drink as he will have more than he should. He said he won't have anything before the ceremony but i know he will so i have told him if you end up drinking before the ceremony its not getting our life as a married couple off to a good start. His dad ended up in the pub and was late for his wedding and a bit tipsy and then sstayed at the bar all night for the reception and got drunk. Everyone thinks this is funny except me and H2b said hes going to do the same. im terrified.
