well mums insurance legal team sent an investigator out today to speak to her (only good thing her insurance has done since the crash) he's putting in a recommendation that further investigation is done against the speeding old bat an he's coming out again one day to take measurements to work out speed and direction of impact which can hopefully be used in court to prove highly exessive speed of about 50mph on a 30 mph road and the fact that no braking or accident evasion swerving was carried out by batty either! Finally some good news
Mums poor car is on the c0p@rt website looking sorry for itself :( it's auction price started at 0 and it's already reached 2050 with 3 days to go .. Dads a mechanic so had the expertise to repair it but it was a big job but the car is worth a lot just broken as it was. 64 plate with 10500 miles on so the engine alone is worth a good £3000 as it still runs .. Sad to see it go mum loved the car. She's seen one exactly the same at a dealership in Sheffield that is the same plate but has another 6000 miles on that she's thinking of buying as she wasn't impressed with the value it lost in just a year ... Near on £6000
CommentAuthorEmily17
At least they are going to try and fight her case. Sad about the car though. I refuse to buy a new one for that reason that the second you drive it away it looses value. Have the insurance given her a good payout for it?

They didn't at first. The car was £23000 new in limited edition colour and her own insurance tried to get her to accept 16k! I knew it was worth quite a bit more than that so told her to say no way. The ones I'd seen online for sale about the same age and miles were between 17-18k when she declined the insurance got arsey saying they couldn't see them offering anymore but they sent the engineer out again who then amended the estimate to just over 18k she had gap so they made up the difference fortunately. So annoyed her insurance tried ripping her off

Glad they're taking it seriously at last Becci. It's amazing how often insurance companies rip off their own customer rather than fight the case. I think they just look for the easiest way out.

It's grey and miserable here. I had to brave the weather at lunchtime as I needed to go into town, but it was largely just windy, with just a couple of showers. I managed to get the choir subs paid in and get some new mouthwash, as well as get something to eat. Now I just need to try to get some flute practice done as I have a concert on Friday with the first rehearsal tomorrow, and I haven't practiced in a couple of weeks. More importantly, I haven't practiced since the fainting episode, and we would normally stand to perform so I need to be sure that I can do that. Otherwise, I'll end up asking the group if we can sit for the performance.

On Friday gf, oh is using the fact that they're on Friday not to quickly go over a few areas with white paint because 'it'll get mucky before then.' Grr..
I really don't know what to do about selling my chinchillas, I'm really not kean on the whole meet us half way at services idea as they could be pulling our leg or not turn up. I've said I'd need a small deposit if we met them half way to cover that possibility - I feel a bit mean saying that but I have to cover my back - if they travelled the full way it would be 2 hours each way so in reality it's a lot better for them to meet us half way so I can see why they're suggestin it.
The thought of transferring them from one carry box to another in a services scares the life out of me plus they don't get a chance to give them a cuddle of anything before taking them home. Hmm

It's beyond belief that I now find myself making tea after I've been working since 8am whilst oh has been off on annual leav and didn't even get up until nearer 11 and has sat watching TV all day. So inconsiderate and self centred

Evening all- my morning flew and I achieved nothing except sort out incompetent managers who can't work out how many staff they have appointed and that they've over spend in their budget.... Then this afternoon I was driver trusting- got really positive feedback though so makes it worth while :-)

I've got a terrible week ahead.
Going to York tomorrow to kick their butts for poor performance but they're manager hasn't ackowledged my email saying I'll be attending Then Wednesday I have to travel to Heathrow.. Told them I would have to get the train because my back can't cope with a 5 hour drive so getting on the 6am train to arrive just after 10 for the 'team review' that is only me and one of my 4 counterparts for the sake of a 2 hour meeting where apparently we just need to sit and be 'talked to' which sounds terrible.
Was meant to be going to Northampton Thursday for our tech team meeting but my back can't do Heathrow by train Wednesday then a 3 hour each way drive to Northampton so told them I can't make it then Friday I'm going up to Sunderland to meet with one of our service providers to discuss some issues.
It wouldn't be too bad if it weren't for all the conference calls I need to be on; I host one tomrrow for damage performance then we have a spreadsheet that comes out about 1 on a Thursday so we have a conference call at 3 to discuss the contents on the sheet so I have to have access to the sheet at 1 to look at all our vehicles that are out of service so I can question any issues which is a total pain because if I've been on location this is the time I should be travelling home then Friday morning at 8 we have a call to discuss the same information on a national level. Makes it so hard to be on locations conducting training!

Hubby came home with a bunch of red roses for me. I had pointed out to him about how he treated me Saturday night by sitting At another table to me, and how yes he drives my car wrong. Seems maybe he realised he was wrong.
Just waiting on dinner to finish, only honey and mustard chicken with vegetable rice and broccoli. Nice and easy.

That mileage is nothing compared to what I was doing before the accident - dreading having to go back to it properly tbh. Very tempted to look for another job.
Not kean on the way they've handled the accident or anything.
Got an email off my boss saying 'the events have been reviewed with HR and although no disciplinary action will be taken due to mitigating factors there is a need to keep a record of events on file should this ever arise again'
All because my partner who is a technican himself was furious that the car caused a crash he took the car to his workplace and plugged it in to the diagnostic machine to display the fault codes as evidence because he didn't trust the dealership to admit the car caused the crash .. Baring in mind I was working away in Manchester when this happened so I had no idea that he'd done this I thought he'd taken the key to work incase the bodyshop needed to pick it up whilst we were out but they put, "we appreciate that you were not aware that this had taken place until after the event but you were responsible for the vehicle" grr ok then stick your job were the sun don't shine they'd have kicked right off if I took the keys 200 miles away from the car and the bodyshop wanted to collect it

Lol that's funny Emm! Are you embarrassed by it? I used to work with a girl that couldn't go when husband was near either and she wouldn't go to loo on holiday so a 2 week holiday as not pleasant for her! It's odd, it's only natural- it's really bad for you to keep it in!
