It's because I changed companies. After we moved I informed my insurance and they calculated a new price as it was a different area. The premium more than doubled. I went to the meerkat site and managed to get a much better quote from another company.

No I don't understand why they need proof. If you've given a false address they would soon find out about it and you'd be the one to get in trouble. When you take out any kind of policy don't you have to "tick" to confirm everything you've said is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge bla bla bla? I've never had to give proof of address when taking out a policy for anything!

Turns out that the woman i dealt with, it was over her limit to refund, so she sent it off to a team leader for it to be done, and it has not been picked up. Chap said he would personally take it to a team leader today and get t done today but it will be up to 5 days before it is back in the account.
