I'm having a fairly laid back Friday, trying to tie up loose ends so I can start afresh on Monday and give a few things my full concentration. Did have a deadline on Monday so started the day thinking it was going to hectic to prepare for the deadline, but at about 10ish this morning the client emailed to say the deadline has been extended for a week. Result.

Haha I love this place where I work sometimes, Got new car where I work, sorted insurance out before I left when I come back car registration plates had been changed which I knew was happening but no one had bothered to inform insurance company they been driving round in it for a week without proper insurance, I drove it yesterday then thought about the insurance afterwards, checked it out this morning and hadn't been changed over, All sorted now thankfully, Told the person who had been driving it for the past week all I got was OMG! roll on my 6 weeks off!

Just had a voicemail from the MD at my new job, he was calling to say hello and introduce himself and told me not to be put off by the office I am going to for training because they are completely different to where I will be working haha, slightly worried now lol xx

I'm guessing they are very strict with a lot of rules and that's what he means lol, the lady that interviewed me said the MD is really laid back, you can choose your own hours, wear what you want etc. Hoping that's what he means anyway haha! Floss problems are usually worse with women I find. It's more b1tchy and people trying to build their little empires. It's like so many think it's acceptable to behave poorly even at a senior level.

Definitely the men here! But then we do have a lot more men than women being part of a construction company. Most of the senior managers and directors are male and they're always b1tching and trying to show how dominating and important they are!! It's like a "my ____ is bigger than your ____" contest sometimes.

My new company is to do with construction so it will be a male oriented office, I came from an architects before this job though which is also a lot of males and found that here is much more b1tchy here where there is more women. I do agree that men are worse though! xx

I gave in and had chips at lunchtime. I've been wanting chips on and off all week. Normally I'd hang tight because we'd eat out Friday night and Sunday lunchtime and I'd have something with chips on one or other occasion, but tonight we're eating in because we've been out with the parents in law every night (nowhere with chips), and Sunday we'll be at a silver wedding so it will probably be nibbles.

Emma I'm sure it will be fine. 2 weeks isn't long if it turns out not to be fun, and it might not be as bad as you expect. If they're strict that's easily managed, you just have to follow instructions to the letter. If you don't like the people you won't have to see them again after two weeks.

We normally eat out on Friday too but I couldn't hold out today. Lunch was very healthy and brekkie was just toast although with lashings of margarine so not healthy and very fattening.

I certainly did have lasagne and chips with salad cream it was lush my friend thinks I odd having salad cream on chips but I love it. looking forward to the food tonight as its all indian!
