Been out to the shop and remembered to take my carriers with me, I am impressed with myself. I was debating about putting another laundry load on but looking at the weather I think I shlal do that tomorrow instead as the weather looks better. I am working a late shift tomorrow, should have been working Friday but they have asked if I could swap it, extra bit of money as I am on annual leave at the mo.

    Well I'm exhausted this morning!!

Oz was up all night snorting / coughing / wheezing / gagging .. The first time we didn't think much of it but it continues all through the night so me and oh have had no sleep through worry about pup as he was so loud! Oh got to work only to be told he had the day off as he has a hospital appointment .. Men are so silly!

I'm still waiting for a call from one of the Drs at our surgery about whether or not they think I can return to work however I'm not sure what a phone call is going to do as they can't see or feel the pain levels - that's our Dr surgery all over. I still haven't had my results from my MRI either so not sure how they can make a decision without reviewing my scan which I offered to drop a disk into the gp before the phone call so she could review but the receptionist said no just wait until the phone call - guarenteed she'll want the disk!

Oz seems to have picked up now and hasn't coughed as much this morning but if it continues I'll be off to the vets with him as it sounds and looks awful and his little puppy eyes are killing me!

Becci, how long ago did you have the MRI scan done? It makes me laugh, if you go for a routine xray or something it takes a couple of weeks to come back to the gp but if you go to A&E and get it done, it is instant. Hope you get some answers soon, and glad to hear your puppy is feeling better.

I didn't sleep brilliant last night either, kinda getting used to it. Even the other night I took some of my tablets I used for night shifts, still I did not sleep great. HUbby asked me why I am not sleeping, I don't know, just getting routine in my life now but I am so tired when I get up.

I had it done privately first thing last Wednesday so I'd have thought with it being private it would be a few days to wait but I must've been optimistic! Or no news is good news and there's maybe nothing to show but a phone call to advise that would be nice!

Have you tried the purple k4lms tablets? I find they help me sleep through x

Becci sounds a bit like kennel cough my dog had it before and it was horrific! I was able to give him children's cough medicine to soothe his throat and it worked wonders! I hadn't slept for days with him being up most of the night xx

My other Staffy had kennel cough and it is very similar just seems strange how it's only the night it's happened ... Did you pup worsen at night?

That means oh must have been mixing him with dodgey dogs at the weekend he will be in bother haha. Maybe I should pop him to the vet anyway just in case and get him some antibiotics but he's not at a risky age he should be able to fight it himself but it's the eyes he gives me when he's poorly that makes it feel like it's my fault!

Yeah he got worse at night Becci, it was awful! I felt so sorry for him, he had been out with his dog walker and must of caught it being out with him, so easy for them to catch it, just spreads like mad! I would defo say get him checked and if he's on the antibiotics quicker it might help soothe it, Leo was only a pup when he got it too he was about 11 months. I was at my wits end with him as I was shattered after 4 nights of little sleep, so I phoned the vet to ask if there was anything i could do and they suggested Children's B3nyl1n it had to be the one suitable for babies and he got one t-spoon a day I gave him it at bed time as this was when he was worst and the first night he slept right through until 5am! xx

Check you can still buy it as childrens cough medicine is not available unless you are over 6 years of age now. Pretty sure they do a simple linctus though for babies, but cannot be 100% sure.

I can see today dragging like yesterday did. My youngest has a check up appointment with the GP later to check on her eye, it is all better now.

My 12 yo son chuckled last night, he put on book face a status saying happy anniversary to the best parents and tagged myself and hubby in it. He said wonder what dad will say when he sees it! Don't think it will be long before they all stop going over, my elder daughter hardly goes over anymore and stays at friends most of the time. They are getting fed up with not going over until dinner time on Saturday evenings, then coming home Sunday evening after doing nothing!

Maybe try what they do for humans by leaving a wet towel over a radiator that is on. Or give him chicken soup. That removes phlegm in humans.

They told me Wednesday morning when they booked it so I checked online at 10 and it said my appointment was at 1145 .. Got to 12.15 so I tried ringing and it said the surgery is closed between 12-2.. Brilliant! Told my boss id ring him this morning after my appointment as my sick note doesn't cover today.

My surgery is the same. You can't book an appointment with a doctor straight away, you have to have a phone appointment first so the doctor can then decipher whether he needs to actually see you or not. It's supposed to ease the busy-ness but just seems like a waste of time to me. What good is a doctor spending loads of time on the phone when he could be physically seeing people?

Unfortunately I think this is the way medical care is heading. Postnatal care of women is going to become a thing of the past before you know it. In some areas my friends trained in, when a woman went home from hospital, if it was a subsequent baby, she would just get a phone call to see if all is good.

My docs will only offer a phone call if there are not any apps left or if you want to chat to the doc about something and are at work and cant get away, it makes it easy for me as I can ask the question needed and if the doc feels they need to see me they make me an app. It works well for me but I think something like that Becci you would of really needed to be seen xx

She basically asked how I'm feeling and that's it and asked what I wanted to do!?

I just said I feel I can definitely work from home on a laptop if I modify the desk so I'm not slumped and that driving is still uncomfortable on travelling distances so wouldn't be able to return to the mileage I was doing straight away especially since I don't know if the mri is going to show anything.. I could end up going back and then being signed off again or making something worse if there's anything wrong on the scan

I totally agree with you Sarah, we still offer it more than most places do, sometimes some women need the extra support and a phone call just does not cut it. We can call our doc at a certain time if we need to talk but don't want to waste an appointment,

Been watching Long Island Medium, was some new ones I have not seen, now onto say yes to the dress, again, not seen these ones.

I hardly ever see my doctor! I only go to the surgery every 6 months for a prescription for my contraceptive pills, and even then I just see the nurse. I find the doctors weird at my surgery.

I've been meaning to switch surgeries for ages as there is one literally down the road from us but I drive 10 mins to get mine. But because I don't go often it's not really much of a hassle.
