I did years ago Michelle but I'm too lazy now and generally find it easier to buy soup.

It's like salads... If I buy all separate salad stuff I waste it. If it's ready prepped I eat it all.... I am lazy lol

Emmilou you could have three or four pieces of fruit and stay within 1200 calories. I allowed myself 1400, and kept it as low as possible during the day, because at that point with hubby cooking I didn't know what dinner would be. Now we buy for a week at a time, so I know it will be one of a few meals.

GF my closest friend was a victim of domestic violence so I saw the effects. It wasn't just how she changed in the relationship, but the continued abuse after the relationship ended because the co-owned a home and had a joint bank account, so he was able to manipulate things still. He emptied the account to its overdraft limit before she had a chance to block it, and insisted on the house, that she was still in, going on the market, before doing everything in his power to prevent sales. He rejected every offer and tried to say that it was my friend's fault the offers weren't high enough. He even threatened to take her to court, until she called his bluff. In the end he accepted an offer but then refused to sign the paperwork and had to be forced, as he knew once the house was sold he would lose all control.

Bit of a random question for you all- OH and I were talking about salaries, I know this will differ as we are all over the country but what would you consider a decent average salary to be, working full time 37.5 hrs a week

I've been managingto eat between 900- 1600 calories a day and not being hungry just by sticking to a decent portion.

Either a banana or smoothie in the morning. A w31ght w@tch3rs wrap with chicken or chicken tikka slices for lunc with a clementine then tea usually meet with a bit of potato, rice or pasta

Last night I did lean diced beef stewing steak with two peppers, an onion and some oxos in the slow cooker with rice and it was only 460 calories

Day before I did chicken breast wrapped in bacon with a slice of cheese and a portion of chips 650 cals

Tonight is chicken breast in a garlic, onion and tomato sauce with pasta and a bit of grater cheese but not worked out the cals yet . I've also been drinking lots of water and I've not felt hungry at all. We do have a jar of chocolates in the kitchen which is tempting for th taste but I'm managing to resist - at least until the bulk of the weight is off

It depends Michelle - When I was getting a full time placement for uni I thought £18000 was amazing but that was for 50 hours

So I'd say a decent wage atm is probably in that region but everyone would always hope for more

Michelle it would really depend heavily on the role, qualifications needed, experience needed, seniority of the job etc

Here in hull the average wage is probably just above national minimum as A lot of the work available is unskilled work.
However if you work for eitherthe big pharma companies that are here then our year in industry students are on 18k for a 36.5 hr week
When you start going through the levels then permanent staff straight out of uni starting salary is 20k, 1 level up is 28k, 2 levels up (achieve able in 5 to 8 years from starting) is £36k. But you have to have a good science degree to get the starting job in the first place and it is hard work in R&D!

Michelle, I'm not really sure what a decent salary here is to be honest.... I'd say between £18k & £20k is an ok salary. I'm on £16,500 which is pants but then OH who is working down south earns £50k so......

And I've just had a massive barney with hubby, we've been waiting for th kids to come back to order a takeaway. They got here, I asked what he wanted, I got I don't know, th kids wanted a burger so he said order stuff for yourself but don't worry about me!

He's had his well man check today and been told to lose weight basically so I said by cutting meals out is not going to do your weight any good and will make it worse and to stop being a d!ck. I then asked him again what he fancied and he said I don't fancy anything, don't bother about me. I lost it at this point, threw my cuppa in the sink and stormed out the house after saying about all I bl00dy do, how I done the whole of Christmas busting a gut yet not one bl00dy thank you from him.

Went to the shop and got something for the kids, came back, cooked that up for them and not spoken to him. Cannot be dealing with his immature ways.

I also text the friends he has not spoken to yesterday about coming to the gathering I am planning for his birthday. She text me back saying him and **** have not spoken since the summer and she does not think that it will be a good idea, and if he wants them there for him to ask. Fair enough! So I told him that today, saying be th bigger person and got in touch, and all I got was 'oh'! Again, bl00dy immature ways!

Emma thanks for your kind words yesterday I is going fab!

We had the same problem with Stepson his mum changed his name at school too, but we were told she can do this as anyone can be "known as" any name although his name is legally H2B's on his birth certificate, so for us to enforce her to call him by his given name we would have to have this actioned in court xx

I know he can be 'known as' which is what g00gl3 says and our solicitor but to teach him at such a young age where he knows no better, we have a strong case! Hopefully court will set her straight next week.

Sarah that's such a shame. Couldn't your OH have asked for a psychiatric specialist to see your son? If the court ordered that then potentially brain washing could be proven. In one case I knew of the father got an order to prove that the mother was brain washing his kids who didn't want to see him. Unfortunately it backfired on him and the psychiatrist found, quite rightly, that the children were genuinely upset by their father's treatment of their mother.

The similar but opposite happened in the other case. The mother was the stepmum (the biological mother had died), and although the children were clearly better off with their mother the judge favoured the father and chucked out anything that helped to show the truth. My evidence as a lodger with the mother was dismissed, while the evidence of a 16 year old who was usually drunk was accepted. The psychological evaluation was chucked out as it reflected badly on the father, showing that he showed no remorse for his violence and was not upset about not having his children with them. It's so upsetting when a judge sides with one parent over the other, rather than focussing on what is best for the child.
