Ahhh yeah that is true, the whole big brother thing is very cute.
I wouldn't be overly pink with a girls' nursery I don't think. I quite like neutral colours like creams and browns and cute teddy bears hehe.

Me and OH were talking about this yesterday funnily enough. I'd love a little girl but not really too fussed. I wouldn't want to know the sex before hand though.
Little girls dresses are adorable.

I think I would want a little girl first, not sure why I have just always wanted a girl then a boy but obviously I'd be happy with whatever I got, my family is full of girls and the oldest child has always been a girl in my mum's and dad's family's but in OH's the oldest are boys haha! My SIL is having a little girl and MOH is having a boy, both due in April so been looking at baby clothes a lot lately, so cute!

Whatever gender the baby is I suspect we won't need to buy that many clothes. I think there's already a competition between my mum and my two SILs to see who can sew/knit the most clothes. One advantage if it's a boy is that someone at church has already offered hand me downs from her two boys. There are friends with girls of 18 months to 2 years though, so if they haven't chucked the baby clothes out I'm sure there will be some going. It's not so much an organisation thing that makes me want to know, I just think it will feel so much more real when I can refer to our son or our daughter, and use he or she instead of it. We won't pick names yet, other than potentially having a shortlist. We won't name the baby until it arrives, as I know sometimes people have said that when they have met the baby the name they had in mind just didn't fit.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.

Yeah I think it's important to wait until the baby arrives to finalise the name! The principal of my dance school has just had a baby and they'd had her named from when she was about 5 months pregnant! I found that weird as normally pregnant ladies refer to their "bump" but they always referred to her as Ruby even though she wasn't even born yet!

Just got back from the hospital. He confirmed I have early signs of spondylitis in c5 of my spine which normally occurs at age 30 minimum then early sign of disk degeneration in my lumbar spine at 1 and 5. He thinks it should recover but has said not to settle until I've recovered as we don't know how long recovery will take. Great :(
He has allowed me to go for a few runs though and just take it easy and stop when it's painful. Mum even asked his permission as to whether he allowed me to go for a 5k every week gentley. Think the penny has finally dropped for her that my back is delicate now and that I shouldn't be doing too much!

Hey ladies.... What a day!!
Not really much more to tell other than we tried to negotiate with her to which she was accepting
She initially said contact every Saturday for 8 weeks 11am til 3pm to which we said no we want 6 weeks, 11 til 4
She agreed
We then went for 6 weeks Sat and Sunday 10 til 4pm no sleep over for 8 weeks alternate weekends, to which she agreed
She spoilt it by saying no to alternate Christmas share!! We can have him Boxing Day but not Xmas day.
We of course said no!! I told her solicitor that it was unacceptable and that it was unfair that we were never to experience the excitement of Christmas morning alternatively with her. She wasn't prepared to negotiate so we said well, we will see you in a final hearing then.
Unfortunately we are back to 2hrs contact on a Saturday but collecting LO from his home.....
I'm not sure how I feel about this because we did kind of make progress with her and gradually broke her down to reasonable terms but she is so wrong demanding Christmas to herself! Our solicitor is very confident the judge will set alternate Christmas' plus the contact that we asked for so its worth the wait..... 14th January we are back in court.
Best bit, we got to court this Morning and her solicitor said right, I need to ask something first. When you collected LO at the contact centre the last time did you have appropriate car seats as LO has told us he sat on daddy's knee!! We said, absolutely not!! We have two car/booster seats appropriate for all of our children's ages/weights. This is something we are very strict with plus it's the law. OH said, why would I drive round Derby City Centre ring road with my 4 yr old son on my knee?! Lol, LO has turned to his mum and said I sat on daddy's knee!! Blooming hilarious lol She would of loved that if it were true!!

Glad you stuck to your guns Emm. Fingers crossed for court. Do you think she just made up the car seat thing! Exes can be really difficult unreasonable and resort to all sorts of tactics. My best mate's boyfriend's ex is being a total nightmare and he's been beaten up by her boyfriend for no reason.

So Wales have changed their approach to the organ donation register meaning that everyone's in unless you physically opt out .. Of your family say upon your death that you really didn't want to then they wouldn't either ..
Won't be long before England does this I don't think I'm just not sure what I would do. I wouldn't want to opt out as this sounds terrible but the thought of being cut open upon death makes me cringe but I do like the fact that it's saves someone's life.

Evening All. Back in the UK ready for my 2 week shift tomorrow!. Arrived back in the UK yesterday as had to go to passport office in Victoria today to change my passport into my new name! :) Stayed at my Uncles last night bless him he is 93 but now very confused even more so when I saw him a little while ago. Tonight staying at my mums and they will drive me to work tomorrow, They have changed handover times to 1pm as one of the girls complaining about cost of train tickets so now when I leave I have to spend longer at the airport hey ho! Hopefully wont be there much longer, not heard about new job as yet, Sent woman who interviewed me a text on Saturday asking her about it but the guy who interviewed me with her is on holiday so have to wait until next week now! Keeping everything crossed. There were tears as always when I left J at the airport, hate leaving him and it gets harder every time.
Have a good evening everyone x

Emma I think you were absolutely right to stand firm on Christmas. It's a shame that such promising negotiations were spoilt by that, but your OH has every right to have Christmas Day with his child. The child will be happy either way, as wherever he gets Christmas he will have two Christmas days. When the child is older and able to form an opinion it might be different, he might prefer Christmas with one parent over another, but for now he needs to experience both.

Oh dear MichelleC, that's awful. I hope he pulls through.
EC, it was hard to experience as we were really hopeful but our solicitor advised not to say yes for the sake of it so we stuck to our guns!
We would like alternate, Xmas eve 6pm til say 11am Xmas day one year then the following 11am Xmas day til Boxing Day.
It's not fair her having it all......
We will see what the court grants in Jan.
Hopefully it won't back fire x

He works hard your oh em :) bet he loves the weekends to just chill out.
I went out to netball chilled and I've come back so angry it's unbelieveable.
We were playing a team that we usually have a close game with and beat last time (the only team we stand a chance against out of the 8 in our league) and mums insisted that this kid starts playing who's got no discipline for footwork or anything yet and she always puts her before regular good players.
Tonight we had other good players that wanted to play but when they found out we had 7 said they wouldn't come so this kid played and we weren't even close to matching the other team this week it was just footwork after footwork.
I'm more than happy to play on a team with newbies teaching them but you have to prioritise our regular good players over learning kids .. Especially on the only close game we play. It's so demoralising putting your all in and hurting for the same player to waste the ball over and over again. Best be a big bottle of wine in the fridge!
