Glad he's improving Mrs. Wade 2 Be. I've seen the GP and I'm going back at 11:10 for bloods to check blood count, as I have a history of anaemia. He also wants to check for coeliac disease which apparently can cause anaemia. I really hope it's not, it would rule out far too many foods that I like eating. He asked about any abdominal pain or bleeding, and there hasn't been any, so he wasn't concerned about the baby. I did ring through to antenatal just to get their advice, and they said that I'm a positive blood group so as there are no symptoms there is no need for them to do anything. I'm be seeing the midwife in just over two weeks so presumably she'll check the heart beat then. I might see how much it would cost to get a reassurance scan done privately, I'm sure there's somewhere in Cardiff that does it quite reasonably. There's no reason for concern, hence the doctor didn't check the heartbeat, but I would like to know for sure that it's still ok. I'm not sure if you can hear the heartbeat at 15 weeks anyway.

EC, you can if you are lucky, they are small then so move about a lot, the uterus is out of the pelvis at 12/20 so you could potentially listen in. Good you are a positive blood group, did they tell you about the iron levels as well at 12/40 bloods? I done my dissertation on coeliac disease and pregnancy outcomes.

I know my iron levels were checked at 12/40 scan but I didn't hear anything so presumably they were ok. I was surprised actually as I was expecting them to be low. They said the results take three working days so hopefully Thursday. I've managed to get an appointment with the midwife at 1:00 on Thursday, she's only at the surgery on Thursday afternoons but wasn't fully booked. With any luck the results will be in then so we can discuss them at that appointment. I'll ask her if she is able to check the baby at that stage, just to put my mind at ease (there aren't any signs of problems). The GP checked my blood pressure and said it was a touch low. The paramedic said it was fine when she did it, so it might have fluctuated a bit. He took a pulse as well and listened to my chest, and looked under my eyelid, which I had already done as I'm aware of the sign. I gave him the notes that the paramedic gave me and those have gone into my records. Once I've seen the midwife I'll be happy. I'm feeling much better, just tired because I didn't sleep well last night. I just need to slow down a bit.

Elinor so glad that the baby is ok. Now just to make sure you are. Fingers crossed for blood tests x

Must admit Flossie, I looked at the time just now and it was just after two and i thought crikes, the kids will be back before I know it. Then we can watch nativity 3.

Quiet afternoon now I'm all done with the doctor. Although next time I have blood taken, I think I might be tempted to shave the area. The phlebotomist taped cotton wool over the area, and getting the tape off was really painful.

It's one way of getting it done for free I suppose.

Emily - it's my birthday on Thursday and OH is taking me away from Wednesday to Saturday. It is a surprise but he let slip that we are off to Combe Martin in Devon lol. Where we are staying is still a surprise though.

EC it was horrible, needle coming towards my eye was not a pleasant experience. There was blood! I have to continue with the eye drops every couple of hours and ointment too but he was happy with what the antibiotics had done. He said lancing it should avoid needing surgery but I have to go back Friday. He wanted to see me Thursday but I have a packed out diary in London all day so had to make it Friday before I need to head into the office for more meetings. Fingers crossed this is the worst done now and by the end of the week I hope it's gone.

Lol just seen one of the paid adverts on the left hand side of the forum saying limited availability for 2013! I'd say sold out! Unless they have a time machine!

It was just a really manic week so he didn't have time to do it. I was expecting it to be bad as I was asked to cancel my hols but I wasn't expecting this bad.
Luckily people have been understanding and I haven't been chased yet for any reports (some due at 10am today). Problem is I'm still not in a position to do them. I may log on for an hour later if I feel like it. I always get so much more work done at home.

Same Emily, far more productive at home.
