Just had an update meeting with the head of department about my salary and the director has approved his request and said they will have a chat about it on Monday! It's looking good but keeping everything crossed! x

Afternoon everyone. Been and got my hair cut this morning. Didn't get much off just a tidy up really. Got LO hair cut too he looks like a big boy!! I'm starting to feel really nervous about starting tomorrow. Also nervous to see if they agree to the hours I have requested.

So, the latest is, the landlord has been round and sent me the following text message:
‘I’ve tightened the waste on the bath which seems to have helped and is only leaking very slightly underneath. You should be ok for a little while but it definitely needs swapping. Sooner the better! Some silicone rubbed over the crack may help if you want to do that…..’
Hmmmm, to which I replied:
‘OK, so you’ve not put any on?? With regards to the bath replacement, what’s the plan??’
He replied:
‘I haven’t put any on so go for it…..I’ve measured up and can get you a price for a new bath fitted!’
I’m really not happy that I have to pay for this… I’m not clever enough and strong enough to work out what to say back…… He is the landlord, I didn’t do this on purpose…. Please help clever ladies!!!!

Yeah it is not fair. I had trouble with a shower in my old house, my landlord owned the plumbing company and used to send his people round to fix it. They used to say why on earth does he keep repairing it, would be cheaper just to replace it. It took ages for him to actually replace it. Then I asked him numerous times to fix our bedroom window, he never did, I just covered it with putty around the edge to keep it in place and hubby nailed it together to stop it dropping as it was a sash.

Think of it as if he was finding new tenants for the property. He wouldn't let them move in but tell them they needed to replace the bath... so it shouldn't be any different for you. His responsibility x

Yea I agree def his responsibility he's chancing his arm to see if you will cough up. Our landlord try to say a few months ago that our boiler being broken was our fault and that he wud send someone out but we wud have to pay. We told him no chance. He fixed it and I asked the boiler man if it could have been out fault in anyway he said nope no chance. Another chancer.

They do try it on big time. My landlord I have at the mo is brill, tell him something is wrong and he gets it done. A few of the lights went in the kitchen, told him as they are not one y just replace the Bulbs, it's the whole fitting as they sit in the ceiling. No probs, sent someone round, ordered them and had them fitted. I'd have been happy to replace a bulb but when it's £25 each light I thought nope! He was annoyed as they have a ten year guarantee on them and had not lasted that long at all.

As hubby came in I was getting the Hoover out, he said you just got up and doing the hoovering, I said well I have to as needs doing and nobody else will do it. We had the CAFCASS report through today and it isn't good. She has lied and made OH out to be a monster who isn't safe to see his son. He's devastated! I'm hoping that the court see this sort of thing all the time and see through it. I'm absolutely gutted as a loving dad just wants to have quality time with his son

Well done Emmilou for finding it, Don't let the landlord rip you off. Where we used to live after 7 years things started to break down and he was going to put the rent up, told him to stuff it and we moved elsewhere!. Yay this time tomorrow will be nearly home, Nearly all ready am packed and got most of the paperwork done, Just get my clients to bed and then tomorrow morning to get over, 2.40pm tomorrow and I am out of here!

The report is so inaccurate too, it makes you question their abilities some times. They have spelt his ex's name wrong for a start and then later in the report they keep referring to her as Ms Collins... It's Ms Halls!!
A professional report that is to be presented in court should be accurate and spot on. It's appalling! My spelling and grammar is not great but if I was submitting a piece of PR at work, it would be checked checked and checked again!!
