My son wants me to go and watch his football match, I hate football, he knows I do not stand there watching it but happily watch him play rugby, but he wants me to take his shin pads as he forgot them. GRRRRR

Welcome Ticamis2be come on in enjoy and moan all you like we are all open ears here,lol Woke early this morning which doesn't normally happen especially as we popped out for a couple of hours last night,watched rugby not my ideal date night but I was with OH so that's all that matters,found a lovely pair of shoes even tho I fell in love with another pair but these are more ideal, they are over 100 tho and shock horror OH said I can get them when we can afford them,wow!!!! I love him even more when he's like that.i think he's kissing @ss coz I bought him bike,heehee xx

Groceries will be delivered today, got nice clean fridges to put everything in.
Also need to skim off the fat from the chicken stock, it's all solidified in the fridge overnight so will be nice healthy stock.

Morning all. OH got up with LO today And let me lay on. Really thankful as he hasn't had a lie on in ages either. Gonna make us some bacon & egg Sarnies now. Sunday is our only family day so I usually like to have a day out but OH wants to watch football later so as are staying in. I have a feeling he will look to go to the pub and watch it since I got a lay on lol. Gonna do some cleaning and make roast chicken dinner

Sounds like roast chicken is the meal of the day. Hmmmmmmmm.................I have a whole chicken being delivered today, was going to portion it off and use some for semi fried chicken and then marinade some for later in the week. Now tempting to roast and then have bubble and squeak tomorrow. Oh decisions decisions.
Hubby does like my half fried chicken as do I, yummier than roast lol. Don't now know what to do.

Mmmm I love a good roast chicken- but your half fried sounds too good so I woukd go for that :-) A1di do a whole free range chicken for £4.99 such a bargain and does usually Sunday and then make a pasta bake with left overs which does 2 nights so end up gettin 3 meals out of it!

Great minds. We like to get the most out of a whole chicken. I tend to buy free range whole chicken when they're on offer at 0c@d0. They normally have one of the range they sell on an offer, currently have one for £3.60 a kilo which is cheaper than the 1!d1 free range one.
Just skimmed off the fat from the chicken stock so that will do nicely for lots of homemade vegetable soup, chicken noodle soup in the week and frozen some for another time.
If we have roast chicken I add it to noodles and salads and have some with bubble and squeak. A whole chicken goes a long way.

My half fried chicken is based on the James Martin recipe. Saw on tv once he fried chicken portions in shallow oil then finished off in the oven, I like it because it's slightly healthier. I do a different coating though as I like my seasoning with the flour but the idea of how to actually cook it is the same. Think Jamie Oliver did something similar too.

It's good that nothing is wasted.
The fried chicken is yum, it's just half fried in the pan but then finished off in the oven so only use half the amount of oil to fry and because it's finished in the oven it's less greasy.

I am contemplating roast chicken now though. Not done a roast dinner for a while and the weather is getting colder and makes me want comfort food. If I do the half fried chicken then I make a salad to go with it to try balance out the naughtiness lol. Not sure I'm in a salad mood.

Afternoon all. Feeling a bit more with it now.
Took LO to see my mum and dad this morning whilst OH went clay shooting, then I said I'd take mil and sil into town to get sil bridesmaid shoes. She loves them.
Got home the same time as OH. Was starving as couldn't stomach breakfast so we've just had warm chicken sandwiches. Put a wash load on, had a quick hoover and emptied the dishwasher

Afternoon ladies, soooooo tired after a long but gorgeous day at my friends wedding. Late night and a few bevvies makes a tired Emma lol X
Just changed the bedding and waiting for a wash load to finish then I'm going in the bath and chill out.
We were absolutely gob smacked at the bar prices in the hotel yesterday. I had a single southern comfort, lime and lemonade and OH a double JD and Coke and guess how much?? £16.80!!!!! I was like OMFG!!
Needless to say we only had a couple and then had wine on the table!! How the hell can they get away with those prices!?

Very true IDL..... My friend bought a bottle of wine from home and put it in a wine bag like a gift so kept topping her glass up with that. It's bad but I just can't believe the expense.
The hotel was literally in the middle of a field in the Peak District. Stunning beautiful place just astonishing prices.

I've given up with the ironing pile..... I've just hung everything on hangers and packed it away. When I need it I'll iron it. I hate doing that but I'm so so tired and sick to death of seeing it! I'll clean the house top to bottom when OH goes back tomorrow and then that's that done
