I'm doing nothing.

Showered and got dressed, have no make up on. My sister is coming round tonight, asked her if she was still popping round and she said she'd come up in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day with us as we've not seen each other a great deal lately.

Well I've been up, swept the kitchen and bathroom tidied the kitchen .. Set off the dishwasher that oh loaded full last night? Cleaned out the chins taken the majority of Christmas decs down ridied the front room and our bedroom.

Want to get our bedroom and front room carpet washed too but going to get ready for the track first then I'll get as much as poss done til mum picks me up and finish off when I get home. Got a load of darks in the washer then a whites and coloured waiting too.

Not even attempting the spare room it's got two full bags of oh's Christmas presents and a pile of other stuff. So ungrateful!

I don't get that. How people don't look through their presents after they have got them home. Is quite sad really.

Hubby made some lunch, a bacon baguette. Could happily have an afternoon nap in a moment though.

I asked hubby if he asked if anyone wanted to come round tonight, he said everyone he asked was either going out or had other plans, personally I think he has not asked anyone,

I do like working in our dining room, peaceful and comfortable in here.

Oh dear. He'll probably be lonely tonight if he has no one to really share it with if you're hanging out with your sister.

Was just talking to mom and dad about new year and they are going over to the pub but I really don't fancy getting all dolled up and ready to go out. My head is bad today so really fancy an early night. I just want to relax and switch off so will spend it in the house. Sister has friends coming over so might even take myself upstairs but don't really mind. I get on with her friends anyway.

It is Emily, I normally love new year and we normally do something, feels sad not doing anything or seeing anyone! OH has said we need food shopping but I said he can go as just cba doing anything today

I'm not into new year that much but mum is dragging us out for an Indian at 7 then drinks in town for new year.

Been to the track and my hip was giving me jip so struggling to walk now but need to get my 30ds dvd done before 5.. Haven't got round to doing the carpets as my company phone and emails haven't stopped all day. People are becoming so dependant on me which is strange because when I first started in this role I barely had any queries!

Definitely idl - treat yourself! I don't ever pump my own money into things more than what oh does because i don't see why I should skimp while he burns money

Becci, can't believe your OH just leaves presents in a black bag! Did his parents spoil him this xmas too? I never hear you talk about the in laws much but from what you have said mum runs round after him!

Just been looking at photos of the devastation of the floods further up from dad- ballater and parts of braemar are completed flooded- when we went to see the river yesterday they were benches and whole trees beds, you name it were flowing down! So sad

This is the local river, what you don't know is about 15ft under the water level is a wall and a walkway down by the river

The next to photos are a beautiful old bridge, this is up ballater way and you sure appreciate just much the river has risen...

I'm really embarrassed that he's just pit his pressies in a bag and not touched them since Christmas day ... I ant even remember what's in there tbh the only inly I've seen him use is the trio sports watch I bought him and the boxers and socks from my mum and his mum. Mum got him a dub camper logburner for the garden and that still in its box dumped in the front room where it was left when it was taken out the car!! Grr.

I've used practically all my Xmas pressies and those that I haven't have been put away the only thing in a bag still is the sweeties and chocolates for obvious reasons.

I believe it was his little brother who coached him on the proposal! It was meant to be Chrisas last year he proposed but then thought twice at a Xmas proposal as its common and not unique (good lad!) so then had the ring travel to Egypt when we went away for my birthday - wasn't anything impressive but I'm not one to like extreme things so was happy enough as it was!

My parents are very hands on and helpful and theyve helped us renovate this house and since we got together we've always met at my mums as it was bigger and I had the puppy that I never wanted to leave when I was younger as he was my little baby - still makes me sad to this day that I can't have him at my house - think that's why when we saw Oz needed a home that day that I said to oh to go and see him. Ohs parents are much more laid back- very like oh they rarely go out rarely go on holiday other than Blackpool and Sheffield to see relatives they're nice people but I just don't seem to have that strong a connection with them. Mil is really warming with the wedding come up and we're making the invites together. Me oh mum and mil all went to the spa a few weeks ago too which was nice but had to leave early as mil had a call telling her her best friend had lost her fight with cancer

Yeah you certainly appreciate it more when you see it first hand! I feel for those in Cumbria and lancashire who have been flooded out so many times too!
