Yeah it took forever! Was a nightmare, I got loss of earnings and my car payment quick but the compensation took forever! xx

It was the worst pain I've ever experienced Sarah! They gave me the bulk upfront for half the chiropractor costs but the earnings and the pay out was paid for separately in bulk. Felt like I was a child again lol! xx

I'm going to physio who recommended acupuncture but I'm not sure of the difference between physio and chiropractors? I really don't know what to do about work either.
I'm on codiene which is making me sleepy so I shouldn't really drive but I could get the train to Manchester and I feel wrong being off work simply for back pain. I really have no idea because I've never been off work before ever!
CommentAuthorSarah D
It really does sound awful Kayleigh, mine was just long and dragged out was a nightmare but when I got my compensation I treated my mum, sis and auntie to a holiday xx
I got my pay out just before xmas so oopsie with xmas shopping lol
I think acupuncture is similar to dry needling - which is what they did to me. I wouldn't say it hurts as such you feel them once there in and then they twist slightly till you feel a dull ache - then they leave them alone and slowly you feel the ache go completely so they re-twist for a second time :-/ its to get the muscle open more to relax it xx

I'm not sure whether I should tell her to just try it because the ultra sound has worn off quite quick .. Did the acupuncture last a while? I'm not even scared of the pain of needles I don't know why I'm so scared of them I think it's just the thought of them!
I've just spoken to my boss who has told me not to come back unless I'm 100% I just don't feel right being off work when it's just pain especially when we're pushed for staff
CommentAuthorSarah D
Rebecca you need time to recover and you don't want to do more damage driving when drowsy on medication, take a few days and hope the pain starts to wear off xx

Back from lunch, spoke to my mum about the recruitment agency getting in touch and she told me to go for it and speak to them.. kind of kicked me into doing it! So as soon as I got back to the office I gave them a call back and she said is going to put my details forward to the company for an interview :) so we will see what happens! xx

Afternoon, ladies!
I second Sarah's advice, Rebecca; take the time to get yourself sorted - even just a small push past your limit could set you back weeks or months (speaking as someone with an ongoing back/neck/shoulder issue) of progress - and sounds like you have a sympathetic boss, so don't feel bad about needing to take the time to heal!
Good luck on the work front, Flossie!
- Feeling a bit sad myself today - emailed my dad yesterday about some stuff, and turns out stepdad (his partner) couldn't have an op he really needed on his liver last month and so his condition is considered "terminal"; they don't want to know how long he could have left and are hoping he might be strong enough to start chemo next month, in the meantime he's on end-of-life care... but it just seems so crappy that it should happen to such a nice guy. :'( Must have spent about 20 mins sobbing into J's shoulder after I read it (such a cry-baby, I am, lol!) as I really like him; he's fun to be around, and has made my dad so happy over the years they've been together.

Oh yes, plenty to keep me busy; searching for a new job, bits and bobs of planning for the wedding, keeping up with my latest diet and exercise plan, and there always seems to be something needing tidying up in our bedroom recently - I'm not the neatest of people, but even I can't fathom how J finds any of his stuff when it's just in piles here and there!
CommentAuthorMagpieBride
So do I, Rebecca. I've been really looking forward to having him there, especially as when he was first diagnosed back around Xmas I told my dad to tell him in the most serious terms possible that I wanted him there on the day - he was worried he might be the focus of some hostility from family friends, but since I'm not planning on inviting them anyway (mostly for the sake of numbers) I said he wouldn't have to worry about that and that I'd rather he was there to join in the fun!
CommentAuthorKayleighS46
OH is exactly the same Magpie - there's piles and piles around the room its got the point where I don't even know which is which and every night I clean them all up[ and sort them out and within days its back to how it was lol xx

Fingers crossed he's well enough for you! I honestly believe that people can keep fighting if they've got something to look forward to so hopefully your wedding will provide this for him!
My grandad had a severe heart attack nearly 3 years ago and he was clinically dead for 45 minutes .. Ever since then it's made me realise how precious every moment with him is and I'd told my mum how important it was that he is there for my wedding but my partner hadn't even proposed by this point! Then after the proposal me and my oh we're planning a long engagement but as soon as mum got wind she had me in wedding dress shops literally three days after I had the ring on my finger and I think it's down to me wanting my grandad there and she doesn't want me to be disappointed.
Your dad must be so upset too it's hard to find words to say how cruel it is x

Sorry to hear about all the accidents...glad everyone is ok!!
Rebecca I had accupuncture and didn't mind it at all! OH also had it he was freaking out about the thought of it but also didn't mind.
I now know why LO has been cranky and not sleeping great....he had chicken pox!! Great!! I'm working next 2 days and really don't want to take off as I've only just started so will look bad. Also want to be with him though. Although OH will take off to look after him but he's self employed so no money!! Gonna try get my shifts changed for next week too!

Well, he says they're taking the day by day approach as stepdad is on a *lot* of medication at the moment; and they have their pets to focus on as well - two cats and two dogs - so at least they're not just sitting there worrying, and I've been telling myself all morning that I shouldn't be, either.
Just sucks that they had so many plans for the future, and now that's all up in the air.
Sorry to hear about your grandad, Rebecca - hope he's holding up okay, too!

uh-oh Danielle! Have you had chicken pox before? Stock up with camomile lotion!
Just need to stay as positive as you can with the situation Magpie and I think Rebecca's right. My granddad had an angina attack before xmas and he was determined to make it. He fought and lasted till January 9th (day after my uncles birthday) when the doctors said he only had weeks/month at the most xx

He's fine now had heart surgery and he's doing much better; I know you shouldn't worry but you still do it's human nature! I worry about my grandad every day but that only shows you care!
It good they have their pets to give them preoccupied; sounds horrible but it's probably best that they don't know how long is left; it'll make them enjoy every day more x
