If your workplace recognises a TU, of course I can't say whether or not to but it's worth considering, find out more about them then decide if it's right for you.

It's hard to say for certain without knowing every little detail of a case what is fair and reasonable but definitely start with getting hold of the policy and procedure.

Have you been referred to occupational health?

Not yet idl; my doc has sent me to a neurosurgeon and I'm getting mri's wednesday then I have to go back so I'm trying not to jump to any conclusions until then and my boss just said to keep him updated

I was expecting pay day to be on Monday but got paid today. Not that I'm excited about it, it will soon be gone again anyway!

I'm crossing everything that mines might come in tomorrow. Been such a bad month!!

What's everyone's plans for the weekend?

OH has got to go and look at a job first thing with his dad so he's taking LO along too. Might take LO swimming one day and O.h out tomorrow night for his mates 30th, so sil coming round so we can watch pitch perfect 2 and have a drink x

I'm working night duty sat & sun night boooooo. It's our venues wedding fayre on Sunday it's always a good one but we have most things booked anyway so no point

Afternoon all.
Feeling a little bit better today been to doctors who have told me I have a virus so plenty of fluids and rest.
went dress shopping with mum sister and niece and have fallen in love with three dresses, but tried all different styles .the top 3 are all the same style,just got to sit and think about the cost of them as they're all over my budget. I WILL GET ONE OF THEM.......... Going to check the bay to see if they're on there any cheaper,fingers crossed. Although I still have awhile so they might drop in price by then..........

Thank you idl! I don't know how anything works and mums never really been off long term sick to know either. I'll speak to hr about absence policy and a referral to occ health ., after my week off they didn't even do a return to work interview with me :/ I know I'm field based but they could have done it over the phone! I don't think they realised it was as serious as what it potentially is now because even I had no idea!

2nd cuppa now, then I need to make a start on getting the laundry sorted and the housework done before I leave. The boy has football training today as well so he needs to get up. Hubby has gone to work so have no help. I won't get all my laundry done but will leave it in piles and ask my daughter to do it for me instead of hubby, he's useless at laundry.

The house three doors down has a faulty burgular alarm which we've reported to the council that started going off about 3am and stopped just before we got up. *angry face* this is the fourth time this year it's done it and it's always through the flipping night when the council are shut so can't silence it and the property is empty. Police aren't interested because there's no sign of forced entry so we're stuck to listening to it drone on and on and getting no sleep. Always a great start to the day!

We are all ready now for the off. Need to get cash out before getting on the boat so will go earlier, the boat we want we need to get there early as its the first one where they do a cheap deal

Morning all, just about to order the grocery shop. Told myself I'd go to the new @ldi that has opened up down the road but cannot be bothered, so online it is.

Started my day off with a nice long soak in the bath, got myself ready then popped to b00ts and 0utf1t as needed some new leggings. Came back, made myself a big spinach and cheese omelette, cleaned the kitchen and popped a wash on.

Going to football with my mum later on, she's coming round about 1.30 to see the dogs whilst we still have them then we're getting off about 2. It's a lovely day here today, hope it stays like that!

My OH is the same Mrs Wade. He was grumpy last night as his team lost 4-0 lol. He started copying me when I was brushing my teeth before bed which really p1sses me off, so I told him to grow up then he got in a massive hump with me lol. He woke me up to say bye before he went to work this morning like usual and gave me a kiss but no 'love you' and he also hasn't text me at all yet today!

Eeek, men indeed. I bet you feel like you have 2 children sometimes... I know I do, a dog and OH haha xx

Hey becci, sorry to hear about your accident, with regards to your sickness as you have a sick note from the dr, they cannot sack you unless they have followed the sickness policy procedure. Most places have a 3 stage process that in May places is triggered of you have more than 3 episodes of sickness in a certain amount of time or short or long term sickness. Depends on your previous sickness record, this current sickness would only trigger a stage 1 sickness. Your manage should have done a return to work with you on your first day back after the accident and if it was me, I would have referred you to occ health.

Your manager should be in constant contact with you- if they are not doing any of this then they are not following policies and therefore they would have no leg to stand on if they sacked you. Plus they couldn't just sack you anyway, they would need to have given you a warning to begin with, investigation and run a panel hearing.

Most companies have occ health self referrals. Speak to your own hr re this.

Must be something in the air as my OH crabit today too. Think it's because he's under pressure to get work red up today. Me and LO had a nice morning making buns then had omlette for lunch. He's in bed now so I'm gonna try get some sleep before my night shift tonight

Our friends came round and sil so we had a few drinks and take away.

LO a bit grouchy tonight as his front big teeth are coming through. Gave him some medicine so hoping he sleeps

I'll wait for my mri results then I'll speak to my gp again and then my manager as he told me to keep him updated! I've emailed hr about sickness policy and occ health to get the ball rolling there in case it's not good news from the scans. Feeling a bit more reassured now.

This is the only time I've ever had time off sick; I had 1 week 2 days after the accident and then tried to battle on at work because my boss wanted me back but no return to work and then 6 weeks after the accident the pain was worsening and I was getting numbness so I went to my gp and he was the one who told me I can't work until further assessments and scans etc have been completed rather than me requesting it but as these two sick periods are as a result of the same accident I assume it'll just class as my first sickness still! Hopefully after the mri on Wednesday I should have some answers by early the week after so I know when I can return to work and get walking the dog and running again!

Morning all up early with LO so put a wash load on, put the other away that was in tumble, tidied kitchen after having friends round last night, emptied dish washer, made OH a full English and sorted LO breakfast out. Now chilling for 5 before I have a shower then sort my own breakfast out
