Got body pump this morning, had to miss it last night due to work load. Then got a late shift today. Looking forward to Wednesday when no work

GF I feel exactly the same went to bed with every intention of being asleep by around half 9 but just couldn't sleep.
Quite possibly the most horrendous weekend we have had to date. Got a call on Friday night to say the FIL was in intensive care after an operation, spent most of the weekend between the hospital and the in-laws house fetching bits and pieces and trying to sleep where possible, mentally exhausted today.
Luckily he is out of the coma they put him in so hopefully he is now securely on the road to recovery, on our way home last night the OH held my hand and said thank you for all my support and he couldn't have coped without me.
Here's hoping to a better week :)

What a start to a new week not impressed at all!
First I miss a call from a health care 'professional' leaving me a 4 min long voice mail...I listen to it to hear nothing about why they have rang just them bad mouthing other parents!!
I then receive another call from them telling me off because I have not attended my sons blood test that I cancelled 3 weeks ago due to it already being done else where by his own paediatrician, who refused for my son to wait 3 weeks for allergy blood tests, when his reactions where getting life threatening.
Normally this alone would not annoy me but the voice mail and the fact these bloods where a repeat for bloods that where done 2 months ago, that the lab did not do the first time around due to not reading the blood form properly has really annoyed me and that's putting it nicely.
To top it off the tubes that are currently going into my grandfathers heart have not been flushed out for 3 days! causing the infection in his heart to get worse and not knowing if he will make it though this :'( .
They have also lost my dad's brain scans and he has to wait another 6-12 weeks to have more done, while in the meantime his brain is dying. They have no idea why its dying or at what rate.
Heads are soon going to be rolling if they don't book their ideas up!
Sorry really needed a rant before I have a mental breakdown.

My auntie who runs a ward in the same hospital my grandfather is in, found out about it and she has played hell today. She has cleaned the tubes herself (she is trained to do it) and gave his nurses and dr's a lesson in how to do it because they didn't have a clue what they were doing! They used the excuse that the heart infection my grandfather has is very rare and they have never treated it before. I'm sorry but to me this is no excuse, he should have been moved to a hospital that knew what they were doing. At least my auntie is there to give them a kick up the backside when/if its needed, not that she should need to.

We've had a manic weekend with Joseph's christening. My parents and parents in law arrived on Friday night and we went for dinner. On Saturday my brother and SIL met up with us, and hubby's brother and family came down. They had an awful time because they got stuck behind a train that was on fire. They should have got to Cardiff at 5:00, they arrived about 9:30. Not fun with a 7 year old, a 4 year old and a 6 month old. They ended up on five trains and a rail replacement bus. It meant we didn't see them until the next day. The service went really well, and Joseph coped well. We had everyone at the house later, which was great apart from Joseph having a meltdown because there were too many people. We took him out in his pram to give him a break and he went to sleep. Yesterday was lunch with hubby's family (mine had left). Today is a much needed chill out day for Joseph.

Sorry I've not posted recently ladies but I've been super busy and had a bit of an accident yesterday
Being an engineer and working in the foot care industry, I tried to measure the coefficient of friction of my feet/staircase interface. The results cannot be published as it resulted in a catastrophic failure and a trip to A&E. The staircase and the walls do not show any damage but the same cannot be said of my ankle! Ambulance staff were convinced it was broken, but thankfully it doesn't appear to be broken, i have however torn the ligaments/ tendons around my ankle, it is currently triple the size it should be and incredibly painful.
Codiene made me very sick, very dizzy, gave me cramps in my diaphragm etc last night I also made the mistake of putting weight on my ankle this morningwhen I got up from the loo and that resulted in me lying on the floor in the bathroom trying desperately not to pass out.
I'm not a happy bunny

Oh Faye, I like your description of your aims. I often conduct double blind controlled dosage investigations into the best kind of biscuit and similar confectionary ;)

Morning all
Finally a day off. Got to work on my late shift on Monday and bit the head off one of my colleagues as I was so tired. I made it up to her yesterday when she spcame to clinic and got her a box of Christmas frosted cakes, she liked. Finished at 3pm yesterday which was nice especially knowing that I would not get called out. Came home, had a tidy round quick, cleaned the bathroom in our room and left the bleach working into the tiles so told Hubby he had to rinse it off when he showered. Also my daughter has been doing the washing up and other stuff to earn pennies for Xmas, last night she wanted me to go through a maths paper with her so after dinner I said hubby could do the washing up. He looked at me as if I had three heads. Helped my daughter until almost 8pm as it was. Maths is not her strong point,
Today I plan to do more household duties, wonderful day off, parents evening this evening, then hoping I may get into a gym class this evening but it's fully booked so hoping someone drops out.

Joseph is full of cold bless him. He managed M0nk3y Music this morning but didn't sleep as long afterwards as he usually does and had a restless night last night. Just got him down for his second nap, I'd like him to do more than his normal half hour but I'm not hopeful. He'll be exhausted tonight.

So my Auntie has just rang to update us on my grandfather. It's good news! They put him on medication that is a lot stronger (there are side effects to this but these are nothing compared to losing him). He responded to them with in 24hrs and they have been able to do a blood transfusion, giving him more strength to fight the infection.
He is on oxygen now tho 24hrs a day but they have said if he keeps responding like he has he should be off the oxygen and on a lower does medication sooner rather than later and may even be allowed home for Christmas day :D (as long as he is with my Auntie)

Went back to the docs today after having this horrible cough for nearly 5 weeks, it's not got to my chest but there's not much else they can do blah. Got antibiotics as a virus should have cleared up by now, so let's see if they do anything. Grr.

Had my implant taken out, and was fitted with the coil. OMG how much pain am I in right now. I feel like I have been kicked in the stomach several times. I really hope it settles down.
Feeling a little sorry for myself right now

Maxine, I found a hot water bottle, paracetamol and ibuprofen 2hrs apart from one another really helped with the pain when I had my coil fitted. Hope this helps.

GF this is the last of my 4 days off and it's flew and I've done very little. Back on the weekend. Going to treat myself to lunch today when I leave LO to nursery.
We had our 21 week scan on Wednesday thank goodness all was ok. We have stayed team yellow
Wish I could shop in the Black Friday sales today but pay day not until Monday boooo
Jen hope your feeling better soon. Maxine hope your pain settles. I had the coil and had no problems. Will get it again after this baby.

I'm the same GF don't get paid until Monday but OH has kindly let me some so I can get hold of a make up set I have been wanting for ages.
FIL is finally out of intensive care and back on a regular ward. MIL is much happier with his progress and said he is almost back to his normal self. My dad is also out of hospital and back home and returning to work Monday.
Will definitely be having a lazy weekend this weekend. Well apart from the fact we need to try and find a rabbit hutch so the rabbit can go outside.

I have well and truly fallen out with our stair gates...We have just spent the last 2hrs at AnE with our little man, who to our horror fell down some steps when the stair gate gave way as he was standing against it :( He is ok, just a nice bump and graze bless him. Think it has scared me more then him. He is currently sat eating a coconut ring he has just robbed of the sofa.

The Doctor at AnE said it happens more often then people think. He explained they can only take so much before they move and fall, even wall mounted gates can become loose and open, which is what happened in our case. Our 10 month old is a big boy, he is the same height and weight as my friends almost 2 year old.
I've rang customer care and explained what had happened, they couldn't apologise enough and explained fully what they thought had happened and how to resolve it.

Jen what kind of monitors are you looking for? We had @nge1care last time. Unfortunately they broke but I'm getting that brand again. The sensor monitor gave me great piece of mind. Today on @m@z0n they were down to £53 or the video ones were £102. In just getting the normal ones. Really wanted to order them today but payday isn't until Monday. Hopefully they go down in the Jan sales too

We have the ones you screw in to the wall, they're the only ones that fit our stairs and doors because they are so wide.
He is fine thank you hun, it's not scared him at all the min we turned our back to him (for a sec), he was back at the gate standing up holding onto it! Daddy had sorted it by then but I still ran and grabbed him. I've decided a 3 floor property is not good when you have a toddling baby.

Tiffany, I had to purchase a stairgate for when Freddie comes round. Because of the stairs, one would not fit at the top, so we decided it would have to go on walk through into the kitchen from the lounge. It's about a door and a half width, so a standard gate would not fit and never wanted one that would be stuck there all the time, so we got a roll up one. It rolls back when not needed, and pull it out when it is.

Maxime I hope you feel better soon. I've avoided the coil as I find smears so painful, I think having a coil fitted would be horrendous. Mum had one to control periods and she was in agony that day. It eased up the following day.
