Awww Lauren, could you just be getting pre wedding nerves? That whole kinda 'what am I doing' sort of moment? I went funny the day before my wedding.
The months leading up to your wedding can be quite surreal.
Or is work distracting you from the wedding and you feel all your energy at the moment should be on work and the wedding is getting in the way? It will all be worth it xx

IDL I'm wishing we had just gone away and got married and moved on.
I think work is getting in the way for sure and the old favourite £££ by all means we have not stretched ourselves and we should be debt free at the end of the wedding but I'm just starting to feel selfish and frivolous. My parents are going through a hard time financially too at the moment and usually I can bail them out and help them but I can't and it's upsetting me that I can't.
Things with the h2b are great, although he's starting to panic because I'm so upset, he thinks I don't want to get married and it's not true. I just feel like a silly little girl who should know better.... Sorry for the downer guys, I'm sure il snap out of it. its strange I'm not usually one to share my emotions but I feel better for talking to you guys.

Try to look at why you're doing it all. The best advice I've given to my best friend who got engaged a few weeks ago was - do what you want to do, enjoy every moment and have no regrets. Please remember what it is you wanted and why you're having the wedding you are, don't regret any of it.
Sorry to hear about your parents, are there other ways you can help? Like a smaller contribution to help or little things like taking them some groceries? Or helping them save by looking at expenditure and lowering their living costs?
Not long to go now.
If you're all organised with the wedding maybe you can focus more on work and your parents for a couple of weeks? X

Just sat down for the first time since the weekend. Well half an he ago I did my nails :)
Bought some candle holders for our fireplace the weekend and put them up tonight. I love it !

Emily your fireplace is lovely..... Can't wait for us to save a deposit for our own house!! It's gonna take a good year but we will get there eventually. What is a deposit nowadays, 5 or 10%??

Emm - sorry to hear about the finances relating to your FIL's wedding. Could you not contact the hotel direct and ask for your rooms to be downgraded? Failing that, has your OH sat down with her dad and explained the situation? Sometimes honesty is the best way forward.

Currently it's 5% minimum deposit Emm. I know this sounds silly, but I take it your OH is from Newcastle originally? Have you thought about relocating to the North East - property prices are a lot cheaper up there and you get more house for your money. My OH is originally from Durham and I am from East Sussex. At the moment we're living in East Sussex in my flat. We're looking to buy a house, but in this area you're looking around £450k for anything half decent so we have decided that we're going to save between now and next summer and then relocate to a little village called Lanchester in County Durham where we can get our ideal home. Long way from Sussex for me, but it's not as though we don;t know anybody there - OH's family are up there and he has friends there too who we always meet up with and go out with and their wives.

I think 5% is the minimum deposit but 10% obviously more favourable to a lot of lenders, but really depends on how much you can borrow for a mortgage. Due to the amount I can borrow, I have to have a 30% deposit to make up the difference. The mortgage currently would just be in my name so just based on my earnings as OH hasn't been self-employed for long enough. If you have two sets of earnings taken into account, you'll be able to borrow more and so can get away with a lower deposit.
I'd really recommend going to see a mortgage broker for a chat and see what you may be able to borrow, then you'll have more of an idea of the deposit you need to save. I didn't think it'd be possible in just my name at all, but was surprised to find out it was. The reality is totally different to all these online calculators....

Hi all! Feels like an age since I've been on here. Can't believe it's nearly October and nearly Sarah's wedding, that always seemed so far away!
Definitely echo the mortgage broker recommendation, we found it much better than what the bank's mortgage advisers were telling us or what the online calculators say. I think we had just over 20% deposit which got us a much better interest rate than 5 or 10 :)
In Jenn land we are now over 16 weeks preggo, not quite sure where the time has gone it's going so fast!! A very exciting time though :)

I ended up having nearly 3 weeks signed off work, it got really bad and I was failing to function as a human being! It has gradually got better over the last week or so, I still take tablets twice a day and I get waves of nausea but at least I can function this way. Baby is happy and healthy though so that's the most important thing :)

Morning everyone, hope you are good.
This morning when I got in I was so tired that I chucked a big veggie soup into the slow cooker and went straight to bed and passed out. Woke a couple of times but did not get up until just before 4pm. Bliss.
Also weighed myself, so many people have been saying over the past week or so how much weight I've lost, but I said th scales have said no more, I am about 2lbs off a 2 stone loss now.

I wouldnt relocate Lindsey.... Not until LO was near the end of school. I'd go to another town but wouldn't move that far away.
His dad still needs access and we gave OH LOs too to consider. Once they are older it's different but just not yet.
We need to pay my debts off first but yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of a 10% deposit. Yes, once the time comes we will defo go see a broker. I've used one before with LOs dad so know they can be more reasonable than banks etc.

Wow GF well done on weight loss Re mortgages I woukd def look at setting up a meeting, it was recommended to us we went to a building society thriugh a broker who found us a good mortgage- at the time we got a 95% LTV but now do get that I think yiu have to have a spotless credit rating so probs looking at 80-85% LTV so really anywhere between 15% upwards deposit
We really want to move to a bigger house as we live on a main road and no good for OH asthma!
Think once wedding out of way then will look at moving, we are currently making overpayments on mortgage as interest rate so low so hopefully this will reduce it a bit too :-)

Just been for a steady run around the estate.... Only 1.13 miles and I took a wrong turn so came down the wrong street cutting it short. Took LO on his scooter too was was quite a bit slower than i normally am. Oh well, it all counts I guess!
It's nice and cool out mind.....
We can't do anything yet regarding houses and mortgage. We are tied in for another year here plus debts to pay and deposit to save but thank you, all the advice is worth taking on board xx

I had a couple of hours kip this morning, I planned to stay in bed most the day but I ended up getting up, popped out to see hubby st lunch time, then came home, watched some television and then when the kids came home I went to bed for an hour whilst they went to get Freddie. Been to body combat, my first class since before I got poorly. Managed it even though she said only do half the class. Home, showered and awaiting an Indian takeaway

Went to a meat wholesale and got 5kg chicken breast, 4 gammon joints, 7 steaks, 7lamb chops 8 burgers, 36 sausages, 44 bacons, 1 pork pie for just over £60 really chuffed. Looks lovely too!! Freezers now full!

Sorry ladies am in need of a vent! Literally just been browsing on Pint€r€$t and found that 2 months ago my MIL to be started a wedding pin board. MOH and I got engaged at Xmas and started planning straight away. His brother on the other hand only announced they were getting married, you guessed it, 2 months ago! Don't know why I'm surprised or why I even care but I do feel a bit hurt that she's all over their wedding and completely uninterested in ours. Just had words with the Mr coz he says his bro has always been the favourite and I should really be glad she isnt interested. Wish it didn't bother me :(

Laura. It's the same here with my in laws and OHs sister. Unfortunately it has taken me a long time and a LOT of heart break to realise that I don't need to be upset by them and cut them out of my life the same as they have cut themselves out of his. It's sad but unfortunately it's what I've had to learn to do x I hope you are ok xx

What is it with families and the younger sibling- my OHs mum panders after his sister all the time- even though she's moved out she still calls everyday and expects his mum to make her and her bf a Sunday dinner and goes round at least 1 or 2 nights to be fed so she doesn't have to spend money and buy her own food! Christmas OH doesn't seem to get half as many presents etc- I just find it odd- my parents have always treated me send my sister the same

Went to spin fit this morning and the thrush from the antibs was clearing up, until the saddle broke my foo foo.
We also had Freddie overnight last night, after he was picked up just after lunch, we went out for a walk along the seafront as it was a glorious day. Bit windy though. After being away from the gym for almost two weeks, my body hurt but came home, put dinner on, had a bath in the girls bathroom and feel better now,
Got a late shift tomorrow even though I am on annual leave. Bit of extra money.

Michelle/Emily, OH says it's always been same with him and his bro as far as his Mum goes. Makes me sad for him as my parents have always treated me and my Bro the same. Honestly she sat on my sofa last week and claimed she didn't want to know a single detail about either wedding coz she wanted them both to be a surprise. Yeah right! Ultimately I can see me doing the same as you Emily and cutting her out.
