Glitterfairy the best cup of tea I ever had was when I came round from a general anaesthetic and was given tea and hot buttered toast. It was just what I wanted.

Laundry is on, went downstairs to do it and found that one of the cats had pooped in the girls bathroom, (when we moved in their litter tray was in there as they never went out until they got used to it and now one uses it as her bathroom as well), neither of them had cleaned it up and seeing as the cat in question had been out all morning from when I got in I am guessing it is from last night. So it stank down there, had to bleach the floor!!!!

I hope the birthing unit at the Heath Hospital does good tea and toast. Certainly the short stay surgical unit does.

Might have a lay down actually and watch Back to the Future 2 which was on last night when I had to go to work but was recorded. Doubt hubby would have done the third one though, but 2 is my fave.

I haven't seen Back to the Future in ages. I liked 1 and 2 but wasn't so fussed about number 3.

Maybe you need a rota for being ill. You're allowed to be sick on Mondays but the rest of the week you have to be in tiptop condition :)

I was planning on having a bit of a spruce up of the house this evening, fed up of it looking like a pig sty. Want to do a big clean out of the airing cupboard as loads of cr@p just gets shoved in there and I am pretty sure we don't need everything that's in there. OH also has lots of stuff that needs to be put in the loft. Want everything clean and TIDY!

Oh wants to go and purchase the laminate flooring tonight though so by the time I've walked pooch, cooked, eaten and done that I'm not sure I will be bothered. Definitely a weekend job though. Told OH that anything on the floor some Saturday morning is getting chucked in the bin and I don't care what it is!

Me too - off the week after next, although not going anywhere. Feeling a bit peed off this afternoon. The minute something goes wrong, it's my fault as the Lead. Sick of my staff questionning whether I've done something - if I said I have ,then I have. Think I might have to call them all to a meeting as sensing some unhappy rumblings from within. Problem is I am here there and everywhere for meetings, so not always getting into the office daily, but always around on my mobile for emergencies. Really not happy or impressed today.

Oh dear Lindsay that sounds difficult. A meeting might well be a good idea if there are bad dynamics, as I know as a junior member of staff if I was unhappy I found it very difficult to raise it with my boss. The boss we currently have is lovely and is constantly asking us if we're happy with our shift patterns and if we're happy with how much time we're given on the issue desk (I work in the library at a higher education college of music and drama). There was a point years ago under the old boss when a member of staff was on long term sick leave and I was basically being given my share and her's of the issue desk. I had half an hour at the beginning of the day to work in the back room and take the post around, and then apart from breaks I was on the desk all the time. My boss only ever did the first (quiet) hour so never realised how tiring it was being out there all day. Plus I had various things I was responsible for and the desk was so busy I couldn't keep up. It got to the point a couple of times where I was close to tears. Fortunately I had an appraisal and was able to raise it there, and she did split the load more fairly after that, but otherwise I'm not sure how long I would have kept going before it got too much. With the boss we have now I wouldn't have got close to that point, as she would have asked me far sooner if I was coping.

EC they were all on the tv last night. I had to leave part way through the second one which is my fave. Hubby did not record the third one.

The spot on the base of my nostril is annoying me now, it's really sore, but nothing there

That's a really annoying place to get a spot. They always really hurt there. The one that bothers me most is if I get one right under my bottom lip, as I play the flute and that's where you have to put the mouthpiece. You have to press it in as well, you can't just put it there lightly.

Flossie I do most of my emailing and phoning at lunchtime, and invariably get into a long queue with phone calls because lots of other people are using their lunchbreaks to phone as well. The only one which really doesn't work is my dentist which closes for lunch right when I have my lunch break and doesn't open until I have to go back to work. They don't have an option to contact them by email either, which I could do at lunchtime for them to pick up, and you can't leave a voicemail message.

Woke up tired and now I'm shattered!

Thank goodness you found someone good Michelle. It would be awful if you went home feeling the whole day was wasted because you found no one. I know last time my team was involved in recruitment, the people interviewing came back at lunchtime looking very depressed. Fortunately the afternoon session was more successful.

I've heard it can be really boring as well, as you have to treat each candidate the same and that means greeting them in the same way, asking the questions in the same way, giving them the same information (unless they ask questions of their own). You can start to feel like a stuck record.
