I had the confirmation email last time as well with HS, then they decided not to let me have it.

I'm up to my eyes in work but still find time to come on here hehe. It helps to break the day up - think I'd go insane otherwise. My routine is do a bit of work then check here, then go back to work.

Laundry has dried nicely outside, cleaned the patio up a bit, it was starting to look a tad green in places.

Wow the rain outside is the worst rain I think I have even seen! No lunchtime walk for me!!

Michelle my husband was offered the flu jab free through work, but given that I was getting it anyway he decided not to bother, as he's not in an at risk group. If I hadn't had it he definitely would have done. Neither of us tend to get flu anyway, I haven't had it since I was a kid and never bothered with the jab when I was entitled to it free as a student.

We have sunshine here too.

Not too bad here today, quite bright and nowhere near as windy as yesterday.

The wind here is quite strong at the moment, and the clouds are blowing over quickly.

I should have the flu jab at work but I choose not to, I don't get it enough to warrant having it, and I normally have a very good immune system. I get colds but only ever had full on flu twice.

Sarah I hope it all goes well and you manage to come away with some positive memories. My grandmother is 92 or 93, I lose track of which, and is in good physical health other than with a pacemaker, but has alzheimers. My grandfather is 96 and in remarkable shape for his age, just getting a bit slower. They both still live at home with a home help visiting to deal with cleaning, and my mum and her sister both get in once or twice a week. I'm hoping they can see out their days in their own home, particularly my grandmother as she could get to the stage where my grandfather can't cope. It worries me that he might die before her, because then she will have to go into a home, and she won't know where she is or where her husband is. In particular I'm hoping that they can hold on until my baby arrives in April, and then until I am sufficiently recovered to take the baby to them, as they can't travel. My grandmother won't remember, she forgets she even has grandchildren, but my grandfather has been desperate to be a great-grandfather in his lifetime.

I don't think I'd of let my child go on a school trip to Germany GF. Not how things are at the min

A school here on the island has done so, they left here on Monday night, travelled through the tunnel, then by coach to Germany.

Oh no, in that case I definitely don't think it's a necessary visit to happen right now based on recent events and with everyone on such high alert. I know most places have been on high alert for some time but it's all just so raw and obvious right now that it's a big risk to take with peoples children.

My boss rang me this morning after my interview yesterday and said he just wanted to tell me I came across really well in the interview but had something he wanted to tell us before the wider business knows.

He's chosen to leave the business! I said "what no!" And burst into tears and said is it all because of the restructure and he said that among other things and said you know there's been a lot going on and there's a few things I'm not comfortable with so I've taken the decision to leave.

I can't help but feel this could be linked to things to do with my accident and I truly think he's the best manager I've ever had! It's so sad especially as he's probably I his 60's and has done this job really well for years and is so well respected.

It feels like he's jumped to save one of us leaving the team and becajse of the way hr have been :(

Not sure I want to stay in this team if he's not the boss

This headache is not shifting at all so taken some tablets and sitting down watching the original Miracle on 34thvStreet

I would have some concerns too but I suppose something could just as easily happen while they were at home and you can't stop living. I'm sure it will be safe with all the guards and precautions everybody is taking.

There were stories running last night about why the stadium in Hannover got evacuated and the Germany match cancelled. Not sure if they are true or not though, but the match did certainly get called off.

Uhhhhh today is one of those days where loads of bits and bobs pop up. Gone 12 and I still haven't even done any of my actual work that I need to do!

I've always wanted to go to Autzwich (sp) as find that whole era of history fascinating, but also compelling and I think everybody should go so the horrors are never forgotten. I have two German friends who live in Dachau, which is the blueprint concentration camp for all of the others. It was a very strange experience, humbling, but I had to see it to believe it.

Hoping some lunch will rid this headache. Also hoping the gas cheque arrives, always that one that takes time
