Oh, salmon encroute was nice. Think pastry wasn't as flaky as I expected but salmon was cooked beautifully and the layer of spinach chopped onions and garlic was lush. Need to work on how the pastry cooks better. Top layer was fine, bottom was okay on outside layer but rest was slightly soggy.

Read in the news that the "suspicious package" at Old Trafford was a training device. My oh and I have been laughing about it but then I realised, I'm glad I'm laughing about it rather then finding out people have been hurt. Sums up their season though!

Morning everyone. Another lovely day here but it's to break tomorrow apparently.
I feel like the worst mother ever. Went to get LO from bed this morning and noticed he was wet as was the sheets. Then realised we forgot to put a pull up on him last night!! He had his Jammies on early as he got wet in the garden then obviously we forgot about the pull up at bedtime. Poor wee man. God knows how long he was wet for and it didn't even wake him up

I no that's what OH said it obviously didn't bother him. I was so worried it would flare up his eczema but I've given him a bath and he seems fine. At least we know he isn't ready to lose the pull up at night!!

Kids went of to school, I ironed all my uniforms as got four nights so need them all, tidied up in the downstairs hallway which I asked the girls to do as it's theirs but it was not done,tidied the lounge and kitchen, bleached our en suite, put a load of laundry on. Now to finish off the en suite then try and get some revision in so I do not fail my course next week.

I know. Its double what I'm on now for a job that I will enjoy. I have prepared a cover letter but I really don't know if its worth me applying. Would they consider me considering how big a leap it is..

You're more likely to be considered if you apply than if you don't!!! It's worth a shot :) if they're advertising a job at that salary and they think you're capable of doing it then there's no reason why they wouldn't give you that salary... if they don't, you can guarantee that you would still be given a pay rise compared to what you're on now anyway.

Just had a meeting with my boss to train him on the new system. he is very bad on computers so was expecting it to be hell but he did pick it up. Took a few times of me repeating myself but on the hole I was impressed.

Hello. I've been quiet for a while but decided it was time to check in. I left hospital on Thursday, and this is the first day that I haven't had a home visit from a midwife. They've been checking the c-section wound, and Friday and Saturday I had injections as well. They're also keeping an eye on Joseph's weight. Breastfeeding is far more demanding than I expected. Joseph cluster feeds, so sometimes I can be stuck with him for a couple of hours. He also uses me as a human dummy, so he isn't always even feeding. I'm also expressing to keep my supply up, particularly as my milk is only now starting to come through (it can take longer with c-sections). He's fairly good at night now though, as we've worked out the best way to settle him after he's woken for a feed. I'm recovering slowly but surely, still quite stiff but moving around the house better. I haven't ventured out yet. The biggest challenge is getting upright in the morning after lying down for a few hours.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.

Lovely to hear from you EC, glad to hear you and Joseph are doing well and you're slowly on the mend. Keep taking it steady and let your body recover at its own pace. Have you had many family/friends round to see Joseph or have you not really felt up to it? How is hubby finding it all?

My parents were around when I gave birth, they'd come down for thd induction process starting on the Friday. They left on Wednesday, but mum will come back next week when hubby goes back to work. The parents-in-law arrived by coincidence on the day of the birth, they had booked a visit to Cardiff a while ago following on from a London trip, but were expecting that we would be well past the birth by then. They've left today, it's been fantastic having them around, but they were in a hotel so not getting in the way. I suspect if they hadn't been here my parents would have stayed longer.
