I don't think it would worry me having a midwife that I know seeing me down there. After all she sees it all the time. I'm not really close enough to her that I want her to go out of her way to deliver my baby. We were bridesmaids together when my brother married her best friend. It would be good to see her though.

I have no idea how I'm going to react anyway. I'm not generally someone that would scream, as I'm naturally quite introverted, however this is different. I know when I had stitches in my hand and the anaesthetic wore off before they were finished I just closed my eyes and bit my lip, however I'm guessing this will be a different league of pain. I know from watching OBEM though that you're advised not to scream, as it uses energy up that you need for pushing.
I'm only 21 weeks though so a little while yet before I have to do it. I'm at the stage of waiting to feel a definite movement. Apparently my placenta is at the front so I'll feel it later.

Actually talking about giving birth reminds me, I must ring up to ask for a MAT B1 form. I keep forgetting. I'm meeting the HR lady tomorrow so it would be good if I can at least say I've requested the form, even though I won't have it. Come to think of it the midwife visits the surgery on a Thursday afternoon so tomorrow is probably a good time to call.

Regarding my mum delivering, I was that concerned about giving birth it didn't bother me about what she would and wouldn't see....they have seen them all before so mine is no different.
I'm close to my mum so to be it was right. I can appreciate people not wanting people they know to deliver them though.
We have a Christmas jumper day tomorrow at work. I'm quite looking forward to it lol.....
Mine is green with bobbles on like a tree!! Can't wait lol x

Morning all.
I slept pretty good last night, just woke too early with a bladder the size of a small country.
Leanne, I've been fortunate to have easy births, but depending on the reason of an emergency LSCS I would defo go for a VBAC.
As for the dignity and not being able to look people in the eye, we were talking about this the other night with my friend, she said as she is handing me a drink when she goes back to work all she will think of is that my fingers have been 'there'. Myself and the MW who took over both told her that we don't look at it like that, it's just something we do and that all we think about is the baby coming through and the Mum's condition. I've had people make comments about it before now, but it is not like that, we don't see it as a 'sex' object, more like a door to a new beginning. If that makes sense.

I don't think I'd mind my mum delivering my baby - even though she's not a midwife she has still seen it all before and changed my nappies etc once upon a time!!! I want my mum with me when I give birth anyway I think so it really wouldn't make much difference which end she was at hahaha.

It's very mild here as well and set to reach 16 by the end of the week. It is lovely waking up listening to the bird singing though. Just think, in a few days time once the shortest day has been and gone, the days start getting longer.
Flossie, a lot of women have their mum's there now. I never with any of mine though.

Morning all. Didn't sleep well again. Hairspray was great.
OH saw a potential house yesterday. looks lovely :) He's going to call them today to see when we can go and see it.
He's going to his parents today to clear some more stuff. not sure where its going to go. My house is full and a complete unorganised mess.
I wouldn't want my mom to deliver my babies. Not for seeing my bits but she would be too emotional to do it. She wouldn't cope with it. Different if its your job though I guess. Maybe then I would change my mind.

Ahh, it was blood rain. This is from the artical
A mix of desert sand and downpours could spark a deluge of “blood rain” – where it gets into the water droplets – leaving a fine layer of red dust.

I've emailed our estate agents telling them that we're disappointed with the fact we've had the house on the market for a month with only one viewing.ive suggested a few changes to the advert so will see what they come back with.
I had a call because the house we liked has sold now, we've seen others we like just not in as nice areas.
The people who viewed on Friday have apparently viewed loads with our estate agents then on Tuesday when they called them for feedback they Said They've decided they want a house in a town 15 minutes away so basically time wasters
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
Yes flossie, I've had a reply already so that was quick......
Delivery takes between 14 and 60 days with the average being 3 weeks.
We will be working with a new fulfilment company soon and expect to improve this significantly.
We are expecting all orders placed before 6th December to be delivered before Christmas.
If you haven’t received your order by this Saturday, please email again.
Thank you for your patience..
Best Regards

Pages to catch up on!!!
OH left this morning to drive up to Durham for Christmas, so I won't see him now until 27th December, so know it's going to be a very long 10 days, especially as I am working too and I find this time of the year hard going as we don't get to wind down!
Chilled out last night with a Chinese takeaway, bottle of wine and watched a good film, but head feels fuzzy this morning as I don't usually drink on a school night.
Also just received the rudest email from two colleagues - sounds childish, but I am so incensed I've just removed her from F@ceb00k. Fuming, so off to make a cuppa!

Yeah it's not a peak time which I've said I understand that but ours is more a first time home so their buying habits tend to be different and year round.
Everyone's feedback is that the advert doesn't do the house justice so if we get that improved hopefully we'll get a bigger footfall.
Most people have said the first people to view in person will buy - providing they aren't time wasters like the couple who came on Friday! You don't view heap of houses in one town then change your mind over the weekend

Thanks gf - they just called me off the back of my email and said they've had a good read and they take on board my comments and they agree so they're changing the cover photo today an coming out tomorrow to get a photo of the yard with the decking and of our kitchen / diner area as they said the photo they took last time was a little too dark so didn't look too great for the advertz
They said they've been selling well recently and that the Xmas period hasn't really affected them but said it's probably because of the amount of competition we have in our area and pricing range.
I've put it on my fb again but made a collage of all their images and listed all the work we've done and said the photos don't do it justice so viewing is recommended ... I assume we're allowed to actively market it ourselves providing we give the link to arrange viewings through the estate agent

CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
You are giving the link to it, so whoever is interested will go via the estate agents so should be fine

You could also try putting in on your local selling page on book face with the link as well to potential buyers in your area. Surprised it's not sold as it's a bargain and there isn't really anything that needs doing to it. Have you found anywhere that you would like to put an offer in? Sorry I may have missed this from previous posts!

We've had a look online and found about 11 worth viewing but we aren't looking properly til it's sold. We did have a viewing at the most expensive booked for Saturday as it was in a good area and cheap due to extensive renovation needed but had a call this morning cancelling as they accepted an offer :(

I am currently planning on having my mum with me as well as my husband when I deliver, but she isn't a midwife so wouldn't do the delivery. I just think it will take the pressure of my husband a bit, and also I know that she knows what it is like. which obviously my husband doesn't. Even with midwives you don't know whether or not they have ever given birth themselves. I know my friend hasn't. Plus the midwives are running around between mothers whereas my mum can be with me all the time.

The thought of childbirth freaks me out. I've already said to OH that we're having a caescerian! I am a complete wuss when it comes to pain! I am not sure I would want my mum in with me, but I am quite a private person and wouldn't feel comfortable with that. She was there with my sister when she gave birth, but it's just not something that sits well with me - personally! Having said that, when I am in that much pain I will probably want her there!!!
