I've always struggled with pets going too .. Even fish and hamsters I was inconsolable for weeks when our cat died and I loved him to pieces .. I think that's why mum was so against is getting a dog because she knows I can't cope with it.

I'm lucky in that none of my close relatives have died at an age that I've understood but then that makes it harder when the time comes and the same for the dogs because I've never had to learn to grieve. I literally cry myself to sleep sometimes if my mind has been on loosing one of them. Wish they could live forever!

Had to raid the cupboard for big fluffy socks .. It reckons it's 15 degrees in the house but I'm freezing! Will have to get some gloves soon as I refuse to put the heating on this soon in October!

Still no heating for us, I refuse to put it on yet. Will hold off until I absolutely cannot bear it any longer! We have cr@ppy electric storage heaters though which are old now so not really that effective, and also expensive to run.

I do put the heating on in the office though - free heating!!! :)

Our thermostat in turned down to 5degrees until at least November ! Oh said that while I was on our netball weekend he'd had the heating on ... Had to bite my tongue not to shout at him he could have just put another layer on! He tried to justify it by saying ozzy was cold. What a load of rubbish!

Mum has a log burner and it's lovely. We have a real cast iron fireplace in our house that we refurbed initially with the intention to light it but then thight the sut wouldn't do our white washed walls any favours so although we could light it we don't

Just made LO appt at opticians for tomorrow so she's not going to like me.
OH got to have his stitches removed next week, his work are looking into how accident happened as he was given wrong tools to use, so looks like company he was doing work for could get into trouble. He's worried as he cant feel end of his finger,I've told him to let it heal before he panics. He's not the most patient patient, lol xxx

Not that they even put many in there these days! I remember as a child the tubs used to be absolutely huge, had to really put your hand in and have a shuffle around to find what you wanted. Now they're poxy little things!! Am sure they get smaller every year.

She's has been before Emily due to school being concerned about her sight but it was fine then, she's said this morning that when she's reading the words are doubling up, I wear glasses so she might take after me as that happens to me when I'm not wearing mine.
I don't think she will mind if she does need glasses tbh. Xx
As for Xmas chocs I'm the one who eats the left over ones that no one else likes, lol. I'm not a big choc eater but at Xmas I eat more. OH and kids can easily polish off a tub of them. Piggies. I'm happy with Xmas cake, yum yum xx

If oh is concerned about his finger being numb can he not ring the docs just to get reassurance its normal? If his tendons were exposed there's chance he may have nipped a nerve? Might just put his mind at rest .. If they've failed to provide adequate tools for the job he might be best speaking with a solicitor

He was told at hospital it might be numb for a whiled due to injury but like i said he's impatient and wants it back to normal immediately, lol. His work have asked him to do a statement saying what he was doing this morning. He has to pop to hospital to get some more bandage for it as they only gave him and extra one and steri strips he had on have come off. Xx

I grew up with my mum buying Tunis cake, it's hard to buy now and not the same as it used to be. When I grew up it had thick chocolate all around it and icing and marzipan fruit. Now you have a thin layer of chocolate and s couple of small bits of fruit. I made one one year, it turned out ok actually but the chocolate on top had a funny glaze to it so not sure what I done wrong.
