Yeah that is true.... My sister has identical twin boys and they don't bother her half as much as my LO does me as they have each other to play with!
There are 9 months between the twins and my LO so they are very very close. More like brothers than cousins!

Just ordered carpet for the stairs and two bedrooms. We've booked the fitting for well into May, so that even if I go over by the two weeks that they allow I should still be home from hospital. It's a really good service, for a bit extra they will get rid of the old carpets. Now all we need is a quote from the guy who will board in the loft so that we can take all the stuff for the loft out of the third bedroom. Eventually we also need to remove wallpaper and paint in there, but the boiler is there and we will eventually want to move that, which will mean redecorating anyway.

Evening, we popped out for a bit just to look at some beds as my daughter needs a new one. She has one of those Victorian day beds at the mo but it broke, hubby fixed it and it broke again, she wants a double one now though.

Having a really crap weekend and need to vent where my sister won't find it.
Mum went to see a cancer specialist today at lunch time. He did an emergency admission to hospital as she is apparently bleeding internally from the Tumor and is dangerously anemic. They need to stabilise her and then they will operate to remove Tumor and stop the bleeding probably on Wednesday.
It's upsetting for me as I'm the other side of the country to her but the worst bit is that I am not allowed to tell my sister. My sister is currently half a world away in the Falkland Islands and 4 years ago she sat as her best friends bedside as she passed away from pretty much the same cancer. Mum does not want to worry my sister so has forbidden me from telling my sister. I hate that I can't tell her, she needs to know!
That's hard Faye. If I was your sister I'd probably be upset not to know, but at the same time it's maybe easier for her to know afterwards, provided your mum isn't in any immediate danger. You might have to make a call if you think your mum is in danger.

I've booked a surprise weekend away in a log cabin in the country with hot tubs next weekend as its oh's birthday but invited his parents along too so looking forward to that :)
Our mortgage for is buying Granda's house came through this morning and contracts are all in so we should be moving first week of May excoted but nervous too, will feel strange living in grandas house without seeing him

Hi all. Can't believe it.. 3.30 and just came to bed. Don't see the point in going to sleep as OH will be waking me up at 4 anyway. I picked up my parents and their friends from the concert at 10:30 and we have been drinking. Last lot left at 3. Is lovely seeing them all but we all have the 1st birthday party tomorrow. Will see how that pans out!

Faye, glad your mum is feeling better, it's amazing what a blood transfusion can do. I've looked after people where they look so pale before one, at the end they are a different person.
Beautiful day here so far and think it's meant to stay like it as well. Woke up early, then all I could hear was hubby snoring which made me even more awake so decided to just get up.

Had a good lie in til 7.20 today and only had a slight headache.
OH down in Clacton on Sea on the railway but he has just rang to say they are leaving at 3 so I'll get him for a couple of hours tonight!!
I've got my hair and makeup trial at 2pm today so I'm excited for that! Didn't really want OH to see it but if he's in, he's in. Might take it down before coming home though. I'm not sure!
Could do with cleaning through and I need to go food shopping for the week too. At least I don't have to put make up on. You watch though, I'll see everyone I know lol x

I ended up cleaning the downstairs toilet, bleached our ensuite, tidied up, stripped the bedding and put that in the machine, all before 10am. And all whilst hubby sat around checking fbook. He went to have a shower whilst I had rubbed bleach into everything, instead of saying would you like me to wipe it all down he nt back downstairs. Grrrrrrrr.

By the way, on Friday evening we had a member from children's services turn up on our doorstep as the case has been sent to them. They want to make sure that the girls are safeguarded. I've nothing against that at all. However, what I am now upset about is the fact they have to talk to them both. So my youngest daughter who I wanted to keep out of this, mainly due to her autism and the not knowing how much it will set her back, has to know. Not only has he turned our lives upside down, but he has also taken away my power to protect them from crap like this. My older daughter can't stop crying. It's heart breaking. x

Thanks ladies :) Sorry I've been away for so long, shutting myself away until I was stronger seemed the right thing to do.
I can just about talk about it without tearing up now, it's still hard but we have to take the benefits like he'll never be trapped in his body feeling useless and I'll never look at him and feel sorry for him due to old age this way. He still had years of health left but it wasn't meant to be :(
I've focused on my health and my training for the great north run which me and my sister have raised £1110 so far for! My running has really improved and my back isn't too bad after my car accident now .. Still sore at times but I don't let it stop me anymore granda never let injury stop him so taking on his way of life now. Gone from about 10minute miles down to around 7.30 minutes miles in a few months! Started back around 30 mins for 5k and now I'm down to 23.51 - really happy with that!
Done a few 10 mile races too. Did one in thirsk about 1 month ago in 1hr23.23 then did one in York today in 1hr19.16 so knocked 4 minutes off my time in just a month - I will make him proud just wish he was here in person to cheer me on! He's still with me everyday though, little things but you know he's still watching over us all bless him

It's tough at first isn't it Danielle then it becomes almost sadistically addictive!
The first few weeks running is a chore .. Now I use it to clear my head and let out the stress. I find I wake up early every morning and I'm less tired for running so most weekends I'm up early still running or racing but feeling good for it :) mum signed me up to her running club in March and lots of eyes are on me now because of how quickly the time is dropping off for me, my younger half sister is really quick and wins awards for her running so I think people are wondering of we're going to be a double team .. Still a way to go until that happens though haha!
I have added motivation when it gets tough knowing granda wouldnt have quit so at 7 miles when I was dying today walking wasn't an option! Steadied the pace and just kept plodding in my Granda's footsteps, went out for 17 miles on our road bikes me and mum on wednesday too down the routes granda used to take - can see why he loved his bikes so much

Yeah it's tough but the more you go out the better you feel - if I miss a run now I feel like all the work ive put in is going to go to waste ... I also deliberately run so I can eat a chocolate bar or biscuits later on a night with a hot chocolate - that's canny motivating haha!!!
Working shifts if tough especially in your industry you must be shattered after work emotionally as well as physically I have to put my running stuff on early in the day so that I feel guilty later in the night if I bow out!
