First day back at work properly. Seems really strange, it really doesn't feel like that long ago that I was preparing to go off on maternity leave. I've done some keeping in touch sessions so it's not totally unfamiliar, even though a lot changed while I was away. Joseph has started nursery two days a week. We did settling in last week, which wasn't too bad. We were in on Monday morning for him to play while I did lots of paperwork, and he didn't look for me at all. He wasn't phased when I briefly left the room. Tuesday I left him there 10-11, apparently he played happily for half an hour and then got upset, and refused his snack. We did an afternoon session on Thursday which was better, he saw me leave but it was about 10 minutes before he realised I wasn't about to walk back in. He got teary then but they managed to settle him. He did have a dummy when I came to collect him, which we normally only use for sleeping, but hopefully once he's more settled they'll be able to stop relying on that. He's in nursery all day today and tomorrow. There hasn't been a phonecall to say he really isn't settling so hopefully he's not doing too badly. I imagine they wouldn't phone though unless it was unavoidable, as he has to learn to settle there. As long as he eats I'm happy. I'm working Monday, Tuesday and Friday, so only two days this week and next week with bank holidays. Joseph is going to nursery Mondays and Tuesdays and a friend is having him on Fridays.

Day 3 post op and I still feel away with the fairies, can barely stay awake or stand/walk. Wounds are still bleeding and the pain seems to getting worse, although being kicked in the tummy isn't going to help matters. All Korey wants is mummy and I'm not allowed to hold, cuddle or do anything with him for a week or two :'( H2B is being brill about it all bless him and has proved he does know how to use the hoover and washing machine lol.

Morning all.

Yesterday was hard as I never wanted to sleep much in the day where it was so nice and apparently was meant to change today,but not by much.
Went to the gym this morning, then home, showered and sat out in the garden, then popped out with the girls, now they have all gone out and I am meant to be doing uni work.

Joseph apparently had a teary day at nursery. He was ok when they sang to him but they can't do that all the time. He did eat well though, and had a nap. Definitely could have been worse.

Hey all- had a fab long weekend in southwold- amazing food and amazing weather- have the rest of the week off so I can plan what to cook for friends on Friday- finally get to ask them to be bridesmaid and groomsman- friends dad died earlier in the year and although we have seen them a couple of times it hasn't been the right time to ask so we are both super excited for Friday! :-)

Had a call off my GP this morning to see how things where going. Been told I have to go in and see her this afternoon as she says something isn't right. My wounds are red and sore, I have a pain all the back of my head, my temp is 39 but I can't stop shaking and feel stone cold, I ache all over and I have brain fog, almost like I'm here but not here and my vision keeps going :'(. I'm drinking for England and constantly feel sick. I just want to feel normal again.
Major proud mummy moment last night. Korey-James said wuv ou (love you) and blew kisses before going to bed and staying in his bed all night :D

WOke up early this morning as with hubby away I am not wearing ear plugs, so the seagulls woke me at 0530. put ear plugs in and then went back to sleep for just over an hour. Got up, had a cuppa, done some uni work and housework. Just done the grocery shopping and now about to sit in the sun!! Lovely

So turns out the symptoms I have been having are not normal. I have an infection somewhere, so on some meds and back in a week to make sure I'm healing and the infection has gone.
H2B passed his theory test today :D So proud of him.

Lil git Birthday tomorrow so popping to SIL to use her sun shower in the evening then home for some wine,lol. Need to get rid of milk bottle legs before hen weekend in just over 2 weeks. Getting excitied now Also paid everything off for wedding only girls shoes to get and that's it, thank god xx

Joseph was happier in nursery today apparently. He came home with an Easter card and a chocolate Easter nest. He did refuse his breakfast, even though it was crumpets which he's had before. He slept through snack time as well so he must have been hungry by lunchtime. I'm a bit surprised they don't offer him his snack when he wakes up, if he keeps sleeping through I might ask them if they can do that. He's napping earlier at nursery than at home. He did eat all of his lunch and most of his afternoon meal though. It's a week now until he's in again, so I hope he doesn't go back in that time.

I feel a lazy day coming ahead of me. I've put some paint on my ladder that hubby made, just waiting for that the dry and hopefully won't need anymore coats.; It was the second one. Then I just need some nice throws. I want olive green/sage green kind of colour in those, will wait until after Friday as the R@ng3 is opening up here on Friday so will have a looksie in there.

Had a really fab day out with my friend yesterday, we went to a lovely bird sanctuary place they have lots of birds flying around free, one decide my head was a comfortable perch lol.

Hi All, Had a really rough 3 days with the pain. actually called in sick today because of it. Went to the Drs and they are going to do even more tests to work it out. Its been over 2 months now and getting so fed up! At least I now know that I'm not allergic to anything so I can eat anything. It just hurts!

Poor you Emily- really hope they can finally work out what is wrong with yiu- tough to be in pain for such a long time- have they ruled out IBS then?
Finally worked out what I am cooking tomorrow- for pre dinner champagne I'm making a pin wheel bread, starters is a trio of aranchini balls with a tomatoe sauce- will serve them on black slate mats- main is a flank beef roulade stuffed with Parma ham and home made pesto with parmentier potatoes and veg bundles of carrots asparagus and green beans tied with leek- then pudding is a chocolate and Grand mariner soufflé
I love to cook and always like to challenge myself :-)
I can make the risotto tonight and leave over night in fridge and then split and cal our and fry to,or row afternoon and then just reheat in oven- like wise can prep all the veg and leave in cold water and then just steam- pesto can be made tonight too but I prefer to make on the day and then can stuff the beef, tie and leave- and I've read I can make soufflé a couple of hours a head of time too so really just the bread to make and tidy the house today and tomorrow!

Oh dear Emily, that's really hard. Could stress be involved? I remember after failing my Masters first time round constantly having stomach cramps, and I think it was a combination of facing a resit and struggling with money.

Been to my grandparents today. Not seen them since my sons birthday in January so took him with me to surprise them and it ended up being me getting the biggest surprise....my Grandad can walk again!! Dr's said he would be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life after his illness.

Oh what lovely news Tiffany. My grandmother recently broke her hip, and can't walk now, but forgets she can't walk as she has Alzheimer's. She gets out of bed and falls over.

My first night started off quiet, it finished a bit mad! Last night was ok, nothing special to write home about. Hoping tonight is similar really. I got in this morning to find the dishes from last nights dinner still on the table and a bowl full of washing up. I was not happy, just sat there crying whilst washing them up as everyone else was still in bed. So tonight I refuse to do anything. Stayed in bed until 4ish. Last one tonight though

Afternoon all!
Had a busy day today. Gym class this morning. Home and showered. Then mammoth 2.5 got baking season for afternoon tea tomorrow - got SIL and her family round in the afternoon for tea and sweet treats so bought scones ( in case i fail miserably again at making them myself). Have baked lemon drizzle cake, chocolate brownie cup cakes and first ever attempt at Viennese fingers.

Thanks for the support everyone. Michelle, They don't thin it is because it isn't limited to certain food types and how suddenly it came on. My new tablets are really helping though which is good.
OHs Nan finally out of hospital today. Such a relief.
Went to supermarket earlier and bought a lovely daisy bush. My first plant for the garden :) I love it!!

I prepped most of the soufflé but needed to whisk egg whites before cooking, went to turn beaters on and switch broke so we all had a whisk of the egg whites, was really fun for everyone to be part of the pudding!

I'm not that good IDL! Tip for fail proof scones, instead of rubbing in the butter just melt it and mix all ingredients together- that way keeps them light- I a.so never use a rolling pin, just squash dough by hand and cut out :-)

Oh and I also use an egg- so break an egg and then top up with milk to eg 150 ml- save a bit of it for brushing scones on top too :-)
Less handling the lighter they will be.
I'm going to make some hot cross buns later today or tomorrow

Elinor- Sorry to hear about your grandmother, bless her. Alzheimer's is horrible. Hope she has a full recovery from her broken hip.
Meds are working and I'm no longer in pain. Yay! Still getting the bad headaches and sight loss daily tho but hey ho at least I'm getting there.
Housework and cooking today. Easter bunny still hasn't been yet lol (there still in the wardrobe haha). Worried Korey will get hold of his brothers eggs and be poorly so leaving it until daddy takes him to go get his big brother.

Had lovely roast for Sunday lunch. Chicken, pigs in blankets, roasties, sage and onion stuffing, roasted carrots, cauliflower and broccoli. Then dessert was chocolate brownie cupcakes with vanilla ice cream and raspberries. Mmmmmmmm. Sis and BIL gone home now and kitchen all cleared up.
