I know garters are the done thing on your wedding day, but just wondering if there's a reason behind it? :)
CommentAuthorFlossie
Today, the practice of removing the bride's garter is traditionally reserved to the groom, who will then toss the garter to the unmarried male guests. This is performed after the tossing of the bouquet, in which the bride tosses her bouquet over her shoulder to be caught by the unwed female guests. According to superstition, the lady who catches the bouquet and the man who catches the garter will be the next man and woman among those in attendance to be married (though perhaps not to each other). The ceremony often continues with the man who catches the garter obliged to place it on the leg of the lady who caught the bouquet. Traditionally, the pair are obliged to share the next dance.

The garter stayed on my leg though lol.
I borrowed my sisters garter she used for her wedding so no way that was getting tossed. I didn't throw my bouquet either.

Because I am planning to keep the bouquet to have for our table decoration and the garter for a keep sake and for the memories so after the bouquet and the garter has been throwed then I will get them back from whoever caught them

i don't think I've ever been to a wedding where the garter or bouquet has been tossed i definitely won't be flashing my legs to remove a garter (i personally find it distasteful and unnecessary) xx

Actually, I'm being thinking I won't have my H2B throw my garter but I will let him take it out my leg like the traditional way. I will throw my bouquet to all the unmarried guests but afterwards keep the flowers so I can use them as a table decoration after the wedding, being I'm getting artificial flowers

I'm definitely not doing a garter toss, I'm not even 100% sure I will wear one. I have bought one and want to wear it but I have a feeling I might find it quite annoying, and it might be a bit too big to sit under my dress properly as my dress is tight around my thighs. We shall see..
Doubt I will do a bouquet toss either. 1 because I don't want it to get ruined, and 2 because most people at the wedding will be coupled up anyway, so pointless!! xx
