sooooo.... I ordered a garter from the bay the other day, I wasnt going to have one but thought 'hey, its tradition'.
I asked my h2b if he knew what a garter was actually for...his reply was 'something for me to rip off with my teeth' haha!

Anyway Ive just looked it up and so the tradition goes that people would take the garter as confirmation of the bride and groom consumating the marriage :-o
And as it went on the groom would then throw the garter out the door, as not to be pestered while they are getting it on lol!
So now its said to have a 'garter toss' and the man who catches it will have good luck and be the next to be married.

I think this is a bl00dy brilliant idea, nothing Id enjoy to see more than a load of blokes fighting over my garter haha!
    Anyone else doing it?

We're not doing a garter toss or bouquet toss purely because Rob and I are the only people at our wedding who won't already be married! Oh apart from the 2 little ones but I was going to give mt bouquet to the little girl anyway and it might be a bit inappropriate to give a garter to a 12 year old boy!

haha definitely inappropriate lol! think we've got about 6 maybe 7 blokes who arent married... Ive just told my fella and although he laughed I think he'll probably prefer to keep it for himself lol!
Still think its a great idea tho lol
Come to think of it im not sure how many single ladies we've got...maybe i wont get to throw my bouquet :(
