I'm not trying to gain weight but I need to stay pretty much the same weight. My dress is being made to my measurements and I still have 16 months to go lol. I want to tone up a bit but I need to be careful that I don't lose any weight! Xx

I have a friend who needs to gain weight as she is dangerously thin. However nor does she want to be unhealthy, so the dr has advised her to eat lots of full fat dairy ie milk yogurt and cheese etc.... and to enjoy large portions of pasta, potatos etc... Generally to maintain a healthy diet but by increasing natural fats.

i wanted to lose a stone for my wedding so went on a diet 6 months before. i lost the weight and then had to keep it off for 6 3 months but i lost a little too much so had to put some on again to make sure my dress wasnt too big!

all i did was go on my hen weekend in turkey and i put on weight as all i did was drink! xx

My mum was scarily skinny as a teenager and was prescribed a large glass of baby formula each day. Not sure it's something I'd want to try!! As blondmumma says, lots of dairy and carbs as they'll bulk you up without being dangerously fatty.

Thanks everyone. it is so hard to gain weight, im currently trialing 40 mins yoga and muscle exercise on the wii fit and trying toincrease my food intake to 2150 calories a day. its very difficult for me because i also suffer with food intollerances , acid reflux and IBS. dairy sounds like the way forward to me :-) xx

Maybe just gradually increase your portions so it's not too much of a shock to your system? Xx

try to eat 5 slightly smaller meals a day rather than 3 average ones, will increase your calorie intake without making eating massive porions a chore.

that sounds like a good idea. it got to the point where i was eating till i was nearly sick as mt stomach cant be that large and another mouthful was too much, i think 5 smaller ones is a great idea. thanks xx

Eat more of things that are good for you rather than trying to increase the calories by eating bad things - so eat extra carbs or fruit - nuts are really good too!

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

i try and eat fruit but they contain so little calories its like fighting a losing battle sometimes. there is an app on the i phone, my fitness pal, its brilliant for keeping track of calories but its annoying when you type in apple and it says like 40 calories. lol x

eating more small meals is what people do when they want to lose weight hun, its keeps the metabolism going, because as soo as you start going hungry thats when you body starts to grab on to fat and stores it because it doesnt know when its going to eat next. Instead of having small meals stick to 3 main meals, starting with a good hearty breakfast, but for tea pile on the carbs, pasta, rice, bread, meats, dairy stuff. If you have that late at night (tea time) then all you are doing is resting so your body wont be burning off the food you just ate as quickly as it would normally. They always say you shouldnt eat carbs after 6 if your trying to lose weight - well do the reversal ;0)
