Had a bit of a brainwave for our reception..... I've been thinking about ways to occupy our guests basically as we've got our ceilidh dancing in the middle, a caricaturist drawing cartoons of us and our guests but it's a big room and we want everyone to enjoy our day so we thought that as the room is quite big, we could put a twister mat, chess set and a few other games like jenga, 4-in-a-row, snakes and ladders etc out in a corner maybe.. Is it stupid or a good idea? Would any of you use them? We're conscious that not everyone will want to be energetic so a quiet (but competitive no doubt!) time in the corner might be nice? :) xx

Our venue dressers have giant lawn games to hire for £10 each! Snakes and ladders, draughts and space hoppers ha! Adam didn't like the idea though, but I do! Go for it :D xx

I think it's a great idea especially if you have some children coming to the wedding, it would keep them occupied for a while during speeches etc

Sounds great.... Thank you both although I might give the space hoppers a miss as it's a grand room so don't want to damage anything! LOL xx

It's a great idea. To go with our Alice in Wonderland theme we're having Croquet and Giant Chess but also Giant Jenga and a boucny castle. This is more for me though because I am a total child ;)

Twister in a wedding dress could be fun. You'll have to try it.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Hmmmm, I have a feeling I won't be trying out twister but the others can lol but I'll see..
Sadly we can't try giant games and a bouncy castle as we are in a hotel with no-where to put them :(

    Sounds great!

We are thinking of something similar.
Our venue is a mezzanine of 3 floors, so if our budget stretches to it, we want a fun casino on the upper level!
It would be so fitting as we got engaged in a casino.
The bar is on the lower level and tables/dance floor on the middle one.

Oh that would be SO cool Leasa!! Do it, especially as you got engaged at a casino :D we'd have to put a bed in our venue if we wanted to put where we got engaged haha xx

We are looking into giant Jenga, as h2b calls me Jenga as a nickname because my name is Jenn :)
