Just a bit of friendly advice regarding your wedding shoes ladies. I bought my shoes months ago and when I got them they seemed to fit fine. I put them away at the bottom of the wardrobe in their box and forgot about them until my first dress fitting. I only had them on for 10 mins max OMG they were killing me, there's no way I could have worn them all day and night so had to go hunting for a new pair exactly the same height cos she had altered the length of my dress. I 'm a bit gutted cos they were a bargain should have been £70 odd pounds but got them for thirty and there ivory silk saphire by belle paradox. Anyway my point is get your shoes out and wear them and break them in early dont leave it till your first fitting cos if you find there uncomfortable its a hassle to get new ones once your dress is altered.
The first pic are my first shoes now for sale and the second is my new ones.

Thanks for the advice hun! Good tip as I bought my shoes before anything else, I still don't have a dress yet! I'll be trying the shoes on a regular basis ;)

Lol - I have my front runner which is still dress number 6 that I tried on in the first shop. I tried 9 last weekend and none of them came close. I have 2 more stores to visit that stock dresses I've seen that I like in pictures (no doubt when I try them on they'll look awful on me) which I must try otherwise I'll be forever wondering "what if"!

My fave dress at the moment is Tara by Madeline Issac James. It looks totally different on me I think to the promo picture and when I tried it I added on a different shoulder cover which is so much more elegant and makes the dress stunning.

Maybe I'm overthinking it and should just get it but I'm so scared that one of the other dresses in the pictures I like will be better so until I've satisfied myself that this dress tops the list I can't bring myself to put down a deposit. Pathetic aren't I lol!

Both gorgeous (I like new ones best). Wish I'd known this too- first time I tried shoes was with dress and quite uncomfortable- currently planning on just wearing them and changing in eve. x

I'm hoping my shoes are as comfortable on the day as when I first tried them on - slightly wider I think at the front so my feet aren't crammed in as I have small feet but I think a little wide. Not a very high heel either with a slight platform at the front so they feel lower than they are.

clbronze - a lot of brides change their shoes in the evening or in my sisters case she just ran around bare footed (probably not clever though) - she was lucky not to cut her feet as the usher smashed a glass trying to get everyones attention during the speeches lol

Has anyone tried those gel pads you can get for the front?

lol! I often wear the gel pads for nights out but I'm not convinced they work that well. I find they sometimes move a bit and then are really uncomfortable. High heels kill my feet whatever I do but I find wedges are much better- looked everywhere for a nice sparkly pair of ivory wedges that weren't expensive but found a pair I liked in sales with about 3 inch heel so went for those. x

Ooh - do you have a piccie? They sound nice. My shoes are plain with the ivory material kinda like ruching and a kitten heel (mum told me not to get anything high coz H2B is only 5'9" lol which suits me fine as I'm not quite 5'2").

Just googled your dress Indreamland its beautiful. Your point about cramming your toes in that was my problem cos I have wide feet and my third toe was red raw by the time I got em off lol

clbronze i used to use them i now use full insoles that over the padding and surport to stop shoes hurting they cost a bit more but make all the diffrance x i think thats why my wedding shoes dont hurt because they have padding insoles at ball and heel.

Thanks hun, I do love the dress - I suspect it is "the one" - will keep people posted on it ;)
Last store appt is 3rd week of June so if it is still my fave I'll try to get back to the shop beginning of July to try again.
I do feel your pain when cramming toes in the front, shoes are always fine when you try them the first time but after you wear them for a bit and your feel swell a little and then they rub - OUCH! The ones I bought I know will be fine but I take the advice and will keep trying them on (maybe with socks to stretch them out a little if they do end up feeling a little tight)

clbronze - I love the "I Do" on them! Did you buy them with it or can you buy stickers? I want them (stamp stamp)! They are beautiful shoes, the shop you got them from have gorgeous weddingy shoes, I took one look at the prices though lol and kinda thought to myself "dream on" coz I know I will wreck them on the wedding day so didn't want to spend very much.

    xx

Once it gets closer to the wedding I plan in wearing mine loads to get used to them as when I was trying my dress on ans had shoes on by the time took dress off feet were hurting. Am scared to wear socks with them just incase I stretch them too far so am planning on sexy pop socks as they are the same thickness as tights/ stockings.

Good advice :-) I am lucky because my dress needs no alterations, even the length is perfect which is odd! Its a teeny bit tight but i does do up and i can lose a few lbs before then, in fact it may fit me now!
Im having two pairs of shoes, one all day lower heel pair and a high pair of crystal encrusted ones for the evening! :-)

Brilliant advice. I read an article in a bridal mag too that said you should buy your shoes at the end of the day when your feet are at their biggest (and swollen), this way they won't end up too tight on the night.

The other thing it said was to wear them everyday for an hour (around the house obviously) for the month leading up to the wedding (this will make them more comforable on the day). To do this and avoid marking the soles or heels and inside, cut a pair of stockings / tights, put them on, then put your shoes on. Then you simply fold the stockings back over the shoe and walk around the house. Be careful not to slip though.

Thankyou feebee, I'm not a lover of slingbacks normally but these are comfortable and there is the adjustability with them. I found that with courts to get some that did'nt squash my toes together I had to go for a broader fitting and they were coming off my feet when I walked about in them.
