So my h2b and I booked our venue today. We're getting married in Anstey Hall in Cambridge, and its so beautiful!! The thing is, we have changed our date to Friday 13th September 2013. Are we mad getting married on this "unlucky, superstitious" day?! By having it on this day we have saved 1300 quid on our venue hire!

I like that! All the 13s! If you're not superstitious then absolutely not mad at all! My wedding's the day after yours, so I have the day before the wedding being Fri 13th, so maybe not quite as tempting fate, but still, any 11th hour pre wedding disasters, that's what I'll be blaming it on! :-D

My H2B was born on Fri 13th, His mum was too and my son was born on (sat) the 13th. Fri the 13th has always been his lucky day and if it wasn't for the fact that it is 2 weeks before xmas we would begetting wed on Fri 13th too. But we don't think it will be fair to ask our guests to try and get a day off in the run up to xmas when those days off are needed for xmas shopping etc, so we are hoping for the 14th. xx

the number thirteen is a prime number and is only divisibly by itself. This is symbolic of: •Incorruptible nature •Purity •Integrity
I also found this. The number 13 is considered unlucky for many people in the West.
This is not the case among many Chinese.
The digit 1 when it is in the position of tens sounds like the word 'definite' (shi or 实) in Mandarin and dialects such as Cantonese; while the digit 3 sounds like life, living or birth (生)
As a result, 13, which is pronounced as shisan in Mandarin, can mean 'definitely vibrant'.
So there you go it is def not unlucky and I think it is fab you have made such a huge savingx
