my h2b is a member of the salvation army and they have offered to let us get married in the church for free !!! just have to pay £80 for registrar oh and i can have the big brass band for free too thats just saved me £700 im very happy and cant turn that offer down :-)

wow that is good! If it is in a church you do know you don't book a registrar but the vicar or residing minister for that parish to perform the ceremony? Registrars are official for the district council who carry out civil ceremonies and partnerships.

Yeah i think for salvation army weddings you may need an officiate, not 100% sure but i think so. I was offered a salvation army wedding as my dad and daughter are members and i do a lot down there through the week to help them with their homeless work..... wasnt really up mine and h2bs street though. Great bargain though well done, and the brass band will be awesome!
