    Hi Ladies,

    Wondering if anyone can help?

Instead of gifts, we were going to ask guests if they wanted to give us anything for the wedding a honeymoon contribution would be great as we already have everything that we need after 3 years together and our flat isnt massive anyway. I have been thinking about setting up a honeymoon account instead of a normal bank account so people can see that we will actually be spending the money on our honeymoon but cant seem to find one that doesnt either charge a (huge) set-up fee or that doesnt tie us to booking our honeymoon through them as I would like to surprise H2B with a dream trip to iceland to see the northern lights and I know what I want its the standard honeymoon thing.

Can anybody help a stressing B2B?!

you can open a bank account in both your names and ask ppl to put it in there, if i were you i would avoid the likes of setting up a honeymoon account with a travel agent as you are restricted to purchasing your honeymoon with them and they will know that you have all that money so will prob not give you any discount (shouldnt be saying this as i am a travel agent) also if you dont use your full money that your guests have put in you would just have to get a 2nd holiday where as if in your savings account if you have money left over then you can put it towards spending money xxx

our travel agent does but given they need payment 3 months in advance of the wedding, we have been told by them that it is pretty much pointless grrrr.

Virgin do it, some guy at the wedding fair told me to go in a pick where we would like to go and then the guest can deposit the money in to a fund for ur honeymoon, wasn't really able to talk about it propperly as was really busy, I would go in there and inquire tho I def know its free to do, most travel agents don't do it any more, they sell gift vouchers instead x

If you want complete free choice on who you book your honeymoon with, I'd set up a Paypal account and then you can put the email address in with your invitations - that way in case they get lost in the post etc you haven't just sent your bank details out to some random!

If you want your guests to be able to buy you events such as a meal for two, or an activity etc, try bottom drawer co uk as I've heard good things about them :-)

What about PayPal? If you don't have an account already then its straightforward to set one up and then you can just put an URL link and your email address on the invites.
