Hello, I'm very new too all this and got engaged just under 2 weeks ago (in France). Before we even got engaged, we had thought on a wedding in Europe as we are on a tight budget and seem to get more for your money. Our families are supportive (ish) but nudging us to look at English venues, especially as all of our siblings are living abroad they will find it easier just to fly back to England. So....feeling stressed already! We just want something simple, but don't want the guilt of making things harder for everyone else.
Has anyone else had this? Any advice?
Thanks so much! Cat

Congratulations on the engagement. x
Just a thought but if siblings are flying to England is it not just as easy to fly to France? A friends sister got married in France and the service was in French. Obvious you might think but half the guests weren't French and couldn't speak French and got a bit bored during the ceremony. Good Luck and remember when it comes to weddings, you can't please everyone so don't even try and everyone will have an opinion on what you decide whether its wanted or not.
Got married 11/11/11.

I'm getting married in France hun - getting a LOT more for our money in a stunning venue with an English service. We have people flying in from England, Scotland, Denmark and USA. We've been and booked the wedding so let me know if you have any questions

Hi! My fiance is French, we got engaged in Paris and we're getting married in England. We did think about getting married in France but since we'll both be living in London, we decided the UK was just easier and in some cases cheaper as well. We'll be having a bilingual service and we even have a bilingual toastmaster! I've been to one bilingual wedding in France before and it was lovely. For the vows the couple started with the standard promise that they each repeated in their mother tongue and then added their own vows, it was really cute. If you want to talk about the wedding plans or anything else, feel to contact me x
