It's all depending on what kind of skin you have and what kind of coverage you prefer hun. I'd go to a department store and go to the scary make-up counters which can be a bit daunting but the ladies are always really lovely and helpful! xx

I used to use max factor colour adapt but because I am spot prone I have been recommended to use bare minerals. It is quite good, you add more or less depending on the type of coverage you want. I was a bit apprehensive as am used to using liquid foundations but I would reccomend it. Ask for a trial tho as they show you how to use it as there are different pots you need.

If it's coming off too easy you could try setting your foundation with a powder? Also, I believe you can get green tinted primers which will counteract any redness before applying foundation. :)

I've jst started using Clarins as I went to their counter and had a trial, really good and natural looking, I think it was £25 though but I guess you get what you pay for. If not also use true match (can't remember who by) but it seems to last quite a while!
Just wondering do you use a primer before putting foundation on? Also a fixing powder is also a good investment (no7 anit shine is pretty good) that way you can just top yourself up with the powder if you think it is fading!
I was told it is like when you style your hair, your hairspray keeps it in place, the powder does the same for makeup!

Thanks everyone I'm very limited on the isle of Wight we only have boots and bodyshop for make up and a clinique and ysl counter within boots :/ I've been ordering from mac the primer didn't seem to do much and the foundation was great but very thick and hard to rub on if that makes sense. I have bad red cheeks and quite dry skin which doesn't help maybe I'll have to take a ferry trip and get some trials :) xx

I love Chanel foundation. Pricey, but brilliant.

Ask the make up ladies for some help. They will show you how to layer your make up so that it sits perfectly all day and doesn't 'melt' lol

I'm looking into getting the equivalent of a hair spray for your face. It locks in your make up

Also, perpetration is key. Make sure your face is really well moisturised and don't put make up on until your mousturiser has absorbed

I vote the double wear too.

Although I'm wearing the 25 hour wear stuff (rimmel I think) and that almost lasts a full shift at work, 12 hours of running round like a loony.

I paid £33 for my foundation from my beauty salon. I normally pay less than a tenner for Rimmel lol. The beautician herself said weddings are expensive lol. You're not kidding!

I used to get that green stuff from Boots Hun but that was many moons ago now. It's worth a try if you can still get it :) x

I got a sample of Dior and it's gorgeous. Feels really light and has excellent coverage. I had a trial at mac too and they're foundation is lovely. Use a brush to apply it and it doesn't go on too thick then.

It might be a good idea to get a green concealer to wear under foundation if you are worried about red cheeks. As it counteracts it and makes it less visible and even better when foundation is over the top, also dab some powder on the top of your foundation, to set it that makes it last longer :)

I've got a green stick concealer from boots cheapy range natural collection. It's quite thick though so getting a thinner green toned primer might be better if foundation has heavier coverage. I don't know any brands to suggest though.

On a slightly different topic- does anyone happen to know a brand that has 'cool' or more yellowy under toned foundations? Pretty much all the ones I've tried are either too pink or too orange. Mac NC15 is still too pinky for me!

Maybelline do an amazing clear primer it smoothers out your skin and make up ends up looking flawless, feels like velvet in a tub! 9 quid or something like that, lots of the counters do a red reducing green concealer no. 7 def do one. The trick is to use a sponge or a brush to put on everything liquid so it's even then wait a few mins for it to set than add a mineral powder on top again with a big fat brush xx

Ive not read everybodies comment so i dont know if anybody has already mentioned this but if its just your redness that you have problems with then a green concealer works wonders for redness, you can get one from Boots, No7 do one i think and you just apply a small amount over the effected area and just keep adding as much as you need until its covered as much as you need and then apply your foundation. Hope this helps hun, xx
