i havent budgeted for flowers as i dont have a clue what they cost, i really want something simple in yellow and white maybe using leucanthemum but i dont know where to start do is it as simple as just walking into a florist and sorting there and then. x

hiya, gold is a hard one, the best thing to do maybe is to add gold gems, or beads or ribbons (theres not much fresh flower wise thats gold- its more yellowy or lemony looking) we have used white roses, with gold sprayed greenery beofre, just the tips so it still looks reasonably natural. it depends where your based with flower prices, as some of the girls on here will tell you it can vary from shop to shop in the same street, but it deffinalty does vary from location, it seems "futher up the counrty you are cheaper it seems to be, lower down the more money it seems to cost" its not just the flowers that are more money, the rents over heads, wages etc are more too... i would get a couple of qoutes and see what you think to them, then if need be think about things you dont need, always book well in advance, we have turned a few people away latley as we just dont have the space or hours in the day!

your open to different flowers, lillies, roses, chrysanth, carnations, gerberas ect,,, so price wise it should be reasonable, we mostly just deal with people when they come into the shop and go through prices with them then and there, some florists operate and appointment book, never ever just go in and ask for a price list and leave, sometimes there as much use as a chocolate fire gaurd, prices vary so much, and its so hard to have a from and to price, its easier to work out what you want and for a florist to just give you a price based on that, we try yo steer people away from the "price list" and just tell them the price for what they want, every order is different and every price is different, so go in ask what they think, prices ect,, ask a couple and go with the people you feel most confident with, or someone has recomended you, or a florsit you use regularly.
