I brought my dress off the rail so I have it already kept at my mums. Its looking a bit creased. Can you get them ironed professionally and do you know how much it cost? Im a bit scared about getting it done before the wedding though just in case something went wrong. What does everyone think? Or if I left it out to hang, would the creases fall out? I dont know!! lol

I am a great believer in hanging stuff up and the creases will drop out - why don't you try for a few weeks and see what happens? I'm sure most of the creases will come out by then - you've time to experiment.

The creases should fall out if you leave it to hang, I am pretty sure to have a wedding dress dry cleaned is quite expensive, im sure my friend paid £50 but it obviously depends on the material... I would leave it out a month or so before and if it still looks like it needs a dry clean then take it along, but I would be seeking an opinion from a dry cleaners as to how long it would take them to do so you know your time scales :o) x x

Apparently if you hang it in the bathroom and run a shower the steam gets rid of creases x

You need to get it steamed, not ironed. Hanging in a steamy bathroom apparently works if you want to risk it!

I second Dove and Mrscarter2b - hang it on the back of the bathroom when you next have a shower and you'll be amazed! x

Its at my mums though! I will ask my mum to hang it in the bath room next time she has a shower. Really dont want it at home where H2B might see it.

I'd try the bathroom first if this doesnt work lots of dry cleaners and bridal shops offer a steam/pressing service.

I know that a couple of the bridal stores in bristol will do this for you even if you didnt buy your dress from that shop for a fee, maybe give a couple a call and see what they say if you dont want to risk doing it yourself x

My friend got married last year and the dress maker that altered her dress for her was able to steam out the dress on a machine thing she had....dont think she charged her for this extra, all part of alteration service! xxx

I'm getting married abroad and the lady in the dress shop said my dress will crease in transit and to take a steam iron with me. she told me NOT to iron it but to just use the steam around the dress and the creases will come out. We get married four days after arriving in Italy so she also told me to hang it up where its warm and most of the creases will fall out. Hope this helps!
