Not really sure which category this belongs to so apologies in advance!!
I was looking online at first dances on a particular site that plays videos and came across dances where the FOB and the bride dance together, a little like "the first dance" is this a normal thing or only in the states?? i didnt know there was a special dance i had to do with my dad where everyone watches and thought i just danced with him at some point during the night. the ones i saw they did a special performance which i know my dad would not do (thrilla, solja boy, i like big butts etc).
so do i do my dance with my husband and then one with my dad and then everyone can join in?? thanks. x

In France officially the 1st dance is FOB and Bride, unfortunately my dad not assisting my wedding I will just have 1st dance with H2B

im not having a first dance with my dad, although he will be there. i would feel slightly hypocritical as we are not as close as we once were plus i wouldnt want too offend my step father as he has been sooooo good to me xx

Well my father is no longer with us so it will be just me and my h2b first, I was thinking of a funny dance after our dance but h2b is not keen boo hiss lol so what im thinking of is we dance our dance and then afterwards I break into a dance with the bridesmaids that h2b wont even know we had planned. : )

aw that song is beautiful i can see why you've all picked it, my dad would love it. he really likes western music. i haven't a clue about fob n bride dances n when it should be done either. would really like to get this organised too xx

My dad will be there and we are close but we won't be having a first dance. Would feel a bit weird as I have never been to a wedding where this has been done. Will be me and h2b having first dance.

Ill be dancing with my dad 1st but too kelly and ozzy osbourne Changes (as this was number on1 when I first moved out at 18 and we danced it at my leaving party) the 2nd with my H2B but we not finalised that yet as we have a difference in opinon, and then Ill be having a 3rd with either the cha cha slide or opps upside youre head too get my party going :O)

Will probably dance with my dad at some point in the evening, but he hasn't actually asked anything about the wedding, isn't arriving until 27th May (day before - he lives in spain), hasn't met H2b, as it just hasn't happened ! He will be lucky to be on top table the way its going !!!!!!! x

im another one who is having ' I loved her first' but i am dancing with my granda to it as i dont see my real dad, and my grandpa was the main male role model in my life as i was growing up.
