just watched a programme penny pinchers on c4 available on 4 od there was a bride was quoted 300 for flowers had the idea of buying from supermarket to make her bouqettes. Ended up paying just 28 quid .every little helps!

I saw that and have thought about doing it but not sure if the flowers would last all day. I've read that florists know the tricks of the trade to keep your flowers fresh all day so they don't wilt and go off. I don't know if that's just a ploy to get you to buy theirs or if it's true x

i would never be able to make a nice looking bouquet as i'm rubbish at arranging. i'm afraid to start looking at flower costs and that coz i know i'll go overboard :/

It's a good idea - my mum brought my sister's centrepiece flowers from our local market - got them SO much cheaper!

When my bouquet arrived it looked like something he'd picked up from Tesco on the way.It was awful! I sent it back and asked them to redo it. It was lucky that I'd asked for them to be delivered the afternoon before.
the venue we're thinking of getting includes flowers for tables and seen pics of weddings from there and they're nice so just have to find flowers for me :) and the button holes

Try your local market, there should be a florist. They are usually freelance and dont have the same overheads as shops, but do just as good a job.
