    Hi all,
I'm new to this so hope this is ok to ask..

I'm having a relatively small wedding- church wedding followed by a village hall reception. We will have approx 70 guests. I have 5 super close friends so have ended up asking all 5 to be my bridesmaids as couldn't imagine not having any of them. My goddaughter will be 4 at the time of the wedding and would love her to be my flower girl. My godson will also be 4 and will be a page boy along with my h2b's nephew who is the same age as well.

We have sorted the dresses for the bridesmaids and I know what the flower girl will be wearing. My issue lies with h2b's neice. She will be 12 at the time of the wedding and he would like to ask her as well. She is really lovely but it feels a little strange having her as part of the bridal party as have only met her a handful of times. I am happy to do whatever makes my h2b happy but I'm not too sure what she should be? I think she's too old to be a flower girl and imagine she wouldn't want to be the same as the 4 year old. By equally so, I feel she is too young to be a bridesmaid.

My question is, what would you do? Should I just ask her to be a 'junior bridesmaid' or is there some other responsibility we can give to her to make her feel special? If she's a bridesmaid then I'm not sure what to get her to wear as flower girl will be a super cute tutu style dress and adult bridesmaids dresses don't come in kids/teen sizes :(

I've been stressing a lot over this so thanks so much for your advice xx

Would she be confident enough to do a reading? Perhaps just a simple poem or short verse from a book than anything too complicated. Then you wouldn't need to get her a dress but could get her a corsage to feel special. X

    Hi Kirsty,
That's a great idea! I will ask the family and see what they think. She is quite quiet but the church isn't very big so she may be happy :) xx
