So on Friday we booked our honeymoon... two weeks in Florida so excited
We have booked with ***B@ there the cheapest I could find for november. Problem is they want to charge £66 each to book our seats which is Ridiculous for how much they charge anyway. 24 hours before the flight you can check in online and book your seats for free.
my question is do I book the seats now for £132 (holiday is already costing £3300 still need airport parking and spending money/food when there) or do I wait and risk it and book for free 24 hours before???

I would probably book the seats as I would worry there wouldn't be 2 seats together if left until the last minute. In terms of getting the "best" seats I presume it will be a nice plane anyway due to it being a long haul flight so wouldn't worry so much about that.
Is that £66 inclusive of your return as well?

That's a lot for seats! for a normal holiday I wouldn't bother and would wait and if we couldn't sit together it isn't the end of the world. For honeymoon though I would pay it and make sure that we were sitting next to each other.
Is that £66 for the cheapest seats?

definitely wait for online check in and just pick your seats then. £66 is ridiculous!

its £66 each return which personally I think is stupid.

I dread to think what the most expensive would be! Its up to you. You can risk it and not pay but then there's the potential you wouldn't be together.

Oooh Florida, exciting! Unless you require XLR or exit seats, don't bother. Check in is from 24 hours before, and unless you are going around thanksgiving I wouldn't have thought the flights would be too full. Have you let them know its for your honeymoon?
Also there si a great website called se@tguru which allows you to see seat amps for particular flights, and seat location on a plane and reviews of the seat (ie too close to galley/toilet etc)

Slightly unrelated but still with ***B@ - do you have a frequent flyer card? If not if you get one you will no doubt earn a lot of miles for a Florida flight, might come in useful for a shorter trip?

We booked our holiday to mauritius through b@, we didn't pay for seats, there were plenty of seats together 24 hours before on online check in. If you want exit row then pay, if not don't bother.

Contact the airline direct, we did with ours (51ng@po73) and told them it was our honeymoon. They gave us an upgrade and sat us together, the captain came and congratulated us and gave us champagne, a cake and a present! Well worth mentioning "honeymoon" once you've booked, they often spoil you a little bit.

Leasa how did you ask them on the phone? I have rang before to ask about the difference between flying from Manchester to Gatwick and got fobbed off.

We did, he called them and said he wanted to make the honeymoon flight special for his new wife and they did. They wouldn't upgrade to business class, as he was cheeky enough to ask, but it was an a380 (the new giant double decker jumbo) so they sat us in the premium seats for no extra cost.
