Has anyone flown from manchester to vegas and does anyone have any tips on who to fly with? We want to go to vegas on our honeymoon but have found very different prices for flights depending who we fly with...... Tom c0ok do a really good deal but i've never flown long haul and dont know if I should pay more to go with someone like V-gin who I know have a good reputation for long haul flights...... Any ideas? My mum was talking about Tom C0ok being charter flights...... what does that even mean? lol

Hi lala, Yeah i've had a look and a few companies do but only V-gin and Tom C0ok do direct. My OH doesnt really like airports so the less we have to visit the better...... just want to book flights coz we plan to got for about two weeks and get a car to spend a week in california but still fly back from vegas as no direct flights from LA or california in general. Its looks do able distance wise and we found a hotel in vegas we like and hoping to get a condo near the beach in california. Just need to book flights soon to guarantee a reasonable price and unsure who to fly with.

Oh really? I didnt know that. Maybe I should wait to book until after xmas....... Its to fly the 31st August next year..... do you think that would be leaving it too late?

We just flew to the states with US Airways they were fab, they start boarding u an hour before so you leave on time free drink with your inflight meals with a free drink in between, 100s of movies to choose from, you can even charge your phone or tablet in the armrest of your seat, it may be worth to get a cheaper flight looking at flight to one of the other airports then getting an internal shuttle flight to Vegas.

Just saw your comment about oh not liking airports the shuttle flights are really quick when processing you, we arrived at the airport and checked in and was on our flight within 35 mins.

We flew Vir gin too, but that was from Gatwick. Can't fault them - and my wedding dress was looked after in the pilot's cabin LOL!
You'll be fine to wait for the sales after Xmas to book flights, as lala said.

We flew to Vegas with V'rgin last year and are booked to go from Manchester to Vegas next year too - they were really good xx Definitely go direct xx

I've flew with Thom-sons to Florida on a long haul flight and virg in and they were both great. It was a 10 hr flight but it went quite quick; I'd definitely look after Christmas like Lala said as they do have sales on. :)

I went to Vegas but from Gatwick a few Decembers ago- couldnt fault the service that Virgin gave us! Our flight home was delayed due to snow (First time it had snowed in Vegas for 20 years) So virgin put us up in Treasure island the hotel for the night and gave us breakfast and dinner and drinks all for free! The flight was long though (13.5 hours) but really worth it! the food was amazing on the flight and you get seperate tv's in the back of your chair which included films music programmes and games. We only went normal not premium or anything. We have booked our honeymoon to new york in Jan with them too!"

Virgin is brill! We went to New York and are going to Florida with them at new year .... Thomsons is great too (I work for them) ... Don't say Thomas cook it's swearing. ;-) lol plus in our local stores the staff are useless,our assistant manager mystery shopped them and they knew nothing about external products or didn't ask enough questions to gauge what the customers wanted x

Thanks everyone. Although virgin do seem to have a better reputation i'm just worried that the flights are £400 per person more than with Tom cook. Seems a lot and that is just for economy...... if we wanted premium economy for the extra room we are talking a lot more again...... are they really that much better?
