I have said all along that I wouldn't stress, I wouldn't cry and wouldn't get upset over anything to do with my wedding. However, with three days to go, I have cracked.

This summer, three of us who went to Uni together have got/are getting married. We invited each other and co-ordinated dates to spread them out. I have been to the other weddings and it is my turn this weekend.

My h2b and I don't have the biggest budget in the world as we have enough things to be paying for (don't we all), like maintenance for his ex and are only having a small formal do after the service and then a gathering later for everyone. The other two have now pulled out of coming to my wedding. One I knew about a few weeks ago as she couldn't get work cover, but the other one only let me know today. I suppose I should have seen it coming as when I asked her about it in June, she wasn't exactly firm but led me to believe that she was coming. She has cited not being able to get accomadation as one of her reasons but I happen to know there is plenty of hotel spaces available. Out of the three of us, I am the one who has kept in touch least over the years I suppose and have been back least of us as well (again, budget constrictions).

I don't even really know why I am getting upset as I was worried previously that my wedding would be 'judged' against theirs, not as glitzy (not that that bothers me anyway as it's what WE want) and I'm definitely NOT as skinny as them.

    Should I be this bothered?

aww hun didnt want to read and run... My theory is you wont even notice they are missing on the day... the night before my wedding my dad phoned my uncle as we hadnt heard off him and he said he wasnt coming as he didnt have an invite... he had one and had known about it for a year! he knew it was jsut after he came back off holiday. I havent heard anything from said uncle either and i will see him at my other uncles wedding at the end of the month i wonder if he will say anything, as both my brotehrs got cards and presents for 18 and 21st bdays of this uncle and I didnt.

But I didnt miss him, didnt even really notice he wasnt there!

Its your day dont let it spoil it all that matters is that you and hubby are there no one else will matter! x

Awww don't get yourself so upset hun. If theyre goin to give rubbish excuses then there not very good friends anyways.
You should turn it into a positive and now dont need to worry about what they think and might even make a saving as two less people to cater for. You shouldn't be upsetting urself and comparing your day to other peoples. It is not about the money you spend or how glitzy it is, it is about you and your husband, focuss on the positives! Your day will b brilliant cos its what you planned for your day!
    x

Thanks guys, I've calmed down a bit now and come to the same conclusion. Its actually a bit of a relief to know that I can get on with my day and not care about what anyone else might think/say. I fully believe what one has said, but for some reason cannot make myself believe the second one as much, maybe because she left it so late to let me know. That's just rude IMO. All the people I REALLY care about are going to be there, including my really good friend from Uni, my version of a best man TBH, and he gets to come to the posh do, so there :-)

Sometimes A Person just can't make it to a wedding, for what ever the reason. You will have a wonderful day with out them, it will go in such a blur the will not be missed. I am sure they still wish you all the very best
