went for the first meeting on sat! was good made me have a think! she asked if we were having music whilst waiting for the wedding breakfast while the canapes are served! and also during the wedding breakfast!!! didnt even think about this! what type of music should i have?

Some lucky people can afford a string quartet, harpist or pianist to play either classical or lounge music.
I'm not having music during the drinks reception but during the wedding breakfast we'll be having a CD playing some lounge music in the background or maybe some il divo or michael buble x

Excellent thinking ^!! I was about to say have some michael buble or even jamie cullem playing in the background on cd, its nice and calming and not too overpowering (or expensive!) xxx

Mmm someone said the wedding breakfast can be quite quiet and to have music. Is your own cd player enough, don't know if I want to fork our for a PA system! x
Most venues these days have sound system for CD's, ours can allow you to bring a cd or dock your iPod so I'll probably just do that and get them to select the music I want that I already and on it xx

We're putting together a cd of our favourite songs, something that is unique to us.
We're also naming our tables after our favourite bands so will make the sure the cd includes at least one song from each band.
Would love live music, but budget won't stretch that far

I am thinking of using some classical music in the background just enough to have some sort of sound. Don't have enough money to hire someone for live music.
CommentAuthorNevlar
i think live music would be too distracting! and in your face.

alot of people love classicals like canon in d so maybe hit tube of you hun and just go through some on there to find some you like including singers like michael buble etc hun xx

I've been at some weddings with a piano playing, it was lovely... A cd would be a nice alternative as sometimes the meals can be too quite
I have music playing during the canapes (the same people who will play the music in the church), and then we'll be using the PA system brought in by the live band during the wedding breakfast. They are more then happy for us to plug in an ipod into their system during the wedding breakfast and after their set (we're doing our own DJ'ing).

I have found a wonderful string quartet who play their versions of pop/rock music. Was planning on downloading a couple of hours of that for wedding breakfast.

We were thinking of either compiling some of our favourite songs to be played, or to get in a jazz band or something to play some relaxed music during the wedding breakfast.
