    Hi ladies

I have my first dress fitting next week (so excited as it will be the first time my mum has seen me in my real dress).

I'm just wondering what I need to take with me? Obviously my wedding shoes so they can do the length of the skirt but do I need to wear the underwear I will be wearing on the wedding day? I don't need a bra as the top has boning and I'm not huge up top but I haven't bought anything to wear on the bottom yet. I don't want to be un-prepared!

    Thanks x

I wouldn't have thought knickers would matter at the first ftiring stage unless it's very fitted round your bum :)

I was told to wear the underwear that I was planning on wearing on the day, also as you say the shoes, and if you have or need one the hooped skirt. However, I was the same, did not need a bra so just a pair of knickers and to be honest I could have worn any. If it's a certain style It hink you would need to though.

Yeah, i am on the understanding that you need the underwear that you are wearing on the day especially if its control stuff as they will need to see the exact shape of you..... shoes you have mentioned, im not sure what else x

I took my shoes and the bra I was planning on wearing with me, I need a really low backed bra with my dress and wanted to see what it would look and fit like x

I think that about covers it.i would only worry about the knickers if your dress is tight on the bum. If not just your shoes.

Emma, you can get those attachments for a normal bra to make it low fitting.

I would just bring your shoes unless you underwair is control underwair. Then you may need to bring it, I didn't have my underwair on my 1st fitting and it was all fine :). X

I didn't have mine either, then for my final fitting I took what I thought I wanted to wear but they kept rolling down and creating "bumps" on my hips so I went with big granny pants on the day and it wasn't an issue at all :)

I suspect the underwear would only be an issue if you're planning on using shape-changing underwear, like the kind that flattens your stomach or buttocks. Otherwise I can't see it being a problem. I took my shoes and the bra that I had bought for the day.

Thanks ladies! I checked with the shop too and they said yes for underwear so looks like an emergency shopping trip is needed this weekend. I was planning on comfy pants anyway rather than shaping ones as I still want to be able to breathe and eat dinner lol. X

I got a lovely pair of bridal Knicks from the lan of mat, in the sale, coat £2.75, they were perfect and so comfy. No need to spend a fortune. They even had a lace up detail on the back like my dress

I was told to take shoes and underwear I was wearing on the day. I ended up buying loads of underwear so I could keep a pair nice for the actual day! I was also told that satin type underwear is best if you are stepping into your dress and pulling it up as it slides up easier :)

Ooh thats a good tip Charlotte as I will be stepping into it.

I went shopping but didn't find anything I liked because I'd quite like to get a matching bra even though I won't be wearing it on the day but so I have the set. I'm a small band size (30C) which no one seems to do! If I was a 32 it wouldn't be an issue because everywhere does that. I've only found 30 bands in D3bs and m&$.

So I'm just going to wear some pants in the style I will probs get that I already own and hope its ok. X
