Just made an appointment to have my first dress fitting and probably my last tbh as not long to go before the big day! Bit sad though as there is no way I am going to lose any considerable weight in just over a week, so will have to have the zip taken out and a lace back put in. I don't mind that so much but really didn't want to be the size I am for the wedding. Do you think the bridal shop will hold off doing the actual alterations for another month after this fitting to see if I can lose any weight?
Am excited but nervous at the same time, don't want to end up having back boobs and fat bits bulging out the the top of my dress! Just wanted to share, no need to make a comment. xxx

I have my final fitting in 2 weeks, and i NO i have put weight on due to being on new tablets..

I also dont want my zip to be altered to a tie up, but i guess i prop will have too...
I have just over 9 weeks and although im trying to lose weight as long as i take this tablets i cant see it happening as i have put on just over a stone in 6 weeks... :( xx

So frustrating isn't it! I wasn't meant to be getting married til next June so I wasn't in any rush to lose the weight, now I wish I had as need to lose a stone, but can't realistically do that in a week without starving myself and exercising constantly and I am not that daft. Just hoping that I can lose a few pounds or so, and see if the bridal shop can give me a bit of leeway, fingers crossed! x

If you really do want to lose the weight and think you will then explain it to the dress shop - Im sure they will understand and do what they can to help.

When they took my mesurements in Feb they asked me whether I was planning on losing weight so that they could keep a record of it and have an idea of the work they had to do.

They should understand so just have a chat.

I have actually gained weight since getting engaged, about 5lbs which doesnt seem much but Im quite small so it looks like a lot more.

If you explain it to them, they will probably arrange another fitting in a month to see what needs to be altered.

i dont need my final fitting till 6-8 weeks before the date(mid june for 1st august wedding), which should give you a month to lose some weight. You could always see your shop and ask what is the minimum time for alterations. hopefully you will have 4-6 weeks to lose some weight
    good luck

Thanks girls. I do like the idea of a lace back as it can be pulled nice and tight to give me the shape I want, but I just wanted to be a bit smaller. Am worried that my fat bits will hang over the top of the dress. Might have to see if I can get a pretty lace bolero to go over my arms. x
