Hi all, I am getting married on new years eve 2013 and I am struggling to pick a first dance... I want auld lang sang song from **** and the city film, I thought it tied in well but everyone I've told has said that's silly because our first dance is at 8pm not midnight. What does everyone think.?

id agree hun, ... pick a song that means something to you both, serious or comical people find it more touching also i know alot people hate auld lang sang... xx

I would have to agree, auld lang syne is not a song for a firs dance. That's the song you play right at the end of the night when everyone's had a good drink and are all on the dance floor!! For a first dance I would pick something romantic and slow, (might be the only 5 mins you get alone with your new hubby all night) lol. Or a song that means something to you both! Xx

i think you should defo save auld lang syne for midnight but why not make midnight your first official dance? although everyone will want to join in so might take away from it a bit

Thanks for all your suggestions, i know Auld lang sang is meant for midnight,but the version i found is lovely, slow and romantic, but i think it would be best at midnight. Now to find a new song........
