I need advice from some fellow brides! Me and my husband to be went to a wedding a month ago where 2 of his uni friends got married. I had met them only once before the wedding and they live away so I wouldnt describe them as close friends. Before their wedding I had chosen the most perfect first dance song for our wedding after lots of thought (we arent the sort of couple that have 'a song') My problem now is that of course at our friends wedding they used 'my' song and now I dont know whether we shoukd have the same one! We do have another 5 months until our big day but they will be there and so will a lot of mutual friends and I dont want our wedding (which is on a much smaller budget and less grand) compared unfavourably. my friends think im being silly but none of them are planning a wedding so I dont think they understand the need for it to all be perfect!

I really wouldn't worry about it. Most people don't remember much about a wedding aside from if they had a good time or not. Use the song you want, I wouldn't change it because someone else used it.
What song are you thinking of?

When is your wedding .... We can't nosey as your profile is restricted
It is your wedding day, it is your first dance, and you both decided the song suited you both. Id say, GO FOR IT!! If people notice the song similarity other than watching you dance with your husband then silly them! We have only one song we would ever choose for our first dance, its the first song we ever danced to when we first got together and if someone else chose it I would think, mmmm good taste!
So please dont let it get you down! It is your big day, ENJOY!!
The happened with our song. We would of had Snow Patrol, however. Hubby's brother had the same one. We then went totally different and had bryan Adams heaven and as hubby does a bit of djing he mixed in the dj Sammy version and at that point all the kids got up with us to dance.
