Squee! Just had a call from our fireworks company as they'd misread our file and thought that our wedding was next month and just wanted to check in on us. Thankfully it's not 'til next year so they're holding the date 'til we decide how much of a display we want. They've said anything from £750 to £1200 would look best. At the moment, I'm thinking £750, but if more money becomes available we might add a few hundred pounds to that. :)
I'm majorly obsessed with fireworks.

I looked into them too but I couldn't justify spending £750 for a few minutes. They do look fab though and make for some very pretty pictures. You have every reason to be excited.

I take the attitude that it might only last a few minutes but people remember it for years. One of my earliest memories is watching the fireworks for the centenary of the Forth Bridge and a lot of the strongest memories throughout my life focus on events around fireworks.

Don't get me wrong if we had a never ending budget I would have loved to have had them as they are amazing and like you say people remember them but for me I just couldn't justify spending that much :0(

We're very lucky to be in a position to be able to afford it.
I get married on firework night, so I looked into having fireworks. I was quoted 3,500 for a 6 minute display. I totally understand that because it's firework night they would make more money doing a big display somewhere else so they practically doubled the price, but that is crazy money hence why I said NO. My reception venue is a big mansion house which looks out over Bristol, a short 5 minute drive is the Clifton Suspension bridge and the Downs where firework displays are held every year and are HUGE! So, I'm getting fireworks from every angle for free :-) I can't wait! If you can afford it then definitely do it, it will be so amazing. I'll get fireworks every anniversary now! Also, we're giving each guests a sparkler to do this with ...

I absolutely love the "LOVE" picture. I wonder if we could manage that...
We've managed to negotiate for our videographer to stay late for free just to film the fireworks. I think we might be able to negotiate an earlier start too just because we're getting ready on site... I hope at least!

Yeah you'll find they will stay longer for nothing to film important bit's like that. My photographer was supposed to leave after the first dance but he's now staying on right till the end as long as I feed him lol he just want's to get all firework and sparkler shots. Apparently it's really tricky to get the perfect shot's of fireworks and test's them and that's why they really like to do it!

If your having sparklers, I can't see why you won't manage it. It's all about the timing! We're going to get some sparklers and start practising lol

I'm feeding everyone and their cousin! I'm Jewish and Scottish, he's a Hielander... Food is love!
I really want to get a picture with us and all our suppliers at the evening reception, as we're working so closely with all of them.

Thankfully the firm we're booking with are regular award-winners and love our venue, so I'm very hopeful that it'll be a good display. Apparently they've only once failed to fire due to weather in their whole existence (and that's working in Scotland).
