I would like your honest opinions on fireworks at weddings?
Its something id consider but the price is ridiculous however my venue can get them way cheaper.
Oh thinks its a waste of money I think its different.

The DJ we are using also offer fireworks and I really love the idea, although it is pricy for a really short display, but like you, my OH isn't so keen. I've always loved fireworks though and think they are so beautiful - my birthday is actually on bonfire night so it's a good job really lol x

We always go to the big fireworks display in city centre Connor loves them and so do I the venue will do a five minute display for £200 which is less than half the price from the fireworks company as they need to send a man light them.

That's a good price for 5 minutes! We have been quoted £375 for 4 mins and £499 for 6 mins, so that's a really good deal! I would be really tempted to snatch that deal up if it was me x

I'm really hoping that people near our venue might do displays as we get married on 8th November. That would be a bonus! Xxx

I like them and think they look really good in photos but I wouldn't want to spend money on I don't think. I'd rather spend it on something else. If somebody offered me them for free I'd probably have them lol

At that price I'd definately book it, is it something you can add last minute? If so your h2b might be more agreeable nearer the time once most other items are paid off. I keep looking at our total balance & that's enough to put me off any extras. Xx

Oh I wondered about this myself, going to meet the potential wedding venue next week and I know they do fireworks. I think the photos look fantastic with the fireworks I just never knew how much it would cost! Hoping they are in the ballpark of the figures suggested here! Much cheaper than I ever thought theyd be!

£200 is awesome, do it!
I'm biased though because I LOVE fireworks!

You HAVE to have fireworks if you were born on bonfire night!!!
CommentAuthorFlossie
Haha Carrie.. I'm hoping we will have them and I will be able to twist OH's arm :) I guess we will have to see nearer to the time what's left in the budget before we make a decision x

I personally think the idea is lovely! It is such a beautiful send off, and you could have a bucket with sparklers for your guests. There are many photo ideas that I have seen with using fireworks and sparklers, especially using a slow exposure etc. where the bride and groom and guests are able to write messages etc. I think if you and your h2b are happy about using them and your venue allows them as well, I think you should go for it :) Its a beautiful idea x

You just need to tell h2b that it isn't a celebration without fireworks because you ALWAYS have them for your birthday and it would make it so very personal ;-)

It's a lovely idea but personally I wouldn't spend the money on it. Just watch the budget, it's easy to go over budget, all those little extras add up.
Must say though, I'd love to see fireworks at a wedding.

If you have the money in your budget to do so and it is what you want then do it. I was not interested in having them at my wedding personally, we had not long had a wedding venue which had burnt down due to fireworks, but then that was on the roof of the establishment. You also then have to get someone to get everyone outside in time for them.

Good idea to decide nearer to the time. It would be a really lovely touch but there's no point making it hard for yourselves budget wise x

I love the idea, my H2B and I were discussing this last night and i emailed our venue today to ask what there policy is. We are marring at the racecourse and traditionally they have a big display on Bonfire night,so hoping no red tape attached. We thought about buying some and asking our fathers or a close friend to set them off for us Some of the pices i've seen have started at over £400.
