when we were discussing the prospects of a honeymoon originally we didnt think we could afford one. but with generous donations from family we now think we can manage a lovely family holiday at butlins with our 2 children. i know its not exactly a romantic honeymoon abroad, but i couldnt face leaving my children for so long anyway. the thing is as we're getting married at the end of april we were thinking of booking the holiday for a couple of weeks after the wedding however we now have to wait for the kids school to allow our children time off to go, and school holiday prices are extortionate. if we take our kids out of school without schools permission we will be liable for fines etc and they have become strict with allowing kids time off. i'm just hoping the school sees a honeymoon as exceptional circumstances and grant us the time off :/

Before you book anything hand on for the daily mail tokens or sun promos as they do butlins and haven holidays for £15 each. We did one last year and it was fabby. I believe the Mail are running an offer at the moment if you have someone who has the tokens as I think it started on the 4th. Maybe they will have the paper in the recycle bin?

our daughters school wont even let u have a holiday form until you've had an appointment with the headteacher and two of the school governers to argue the case as to why you need to take a holiday in school time... she wont keep the holiday forms in the school office, you have to get one from her personally....
i can understand it if they are gonna have exams like yr 2...yr 6....yr10 and yr 11 but when my eldest is only 4 and in reception and my other two are not even at school yet, i dont think it should matter, and i dont think an interrogation is gonna help! besides we've already booked our hol before she started there, so she'll be going regardless...we dont get fined, but they can dis-enrol her if we take more than the 10days allowed(which i dont think they enforce, i think they use this as a threat!), which we wont anyway!x
